Cast:
Darlene, Eden, Sydney and I.
Donna, Arron, Lukas, and Emma.
Dawn, Christer, Noah, Isak, and Maina.
Flight: Southwest Air.
On time, good service, and value.
Rental Car: L&M
Second time using them, no problems, good value.
Lodging: VWL 1/1-1/10 2003.
Serene and magificent. Initial room 4533 had no balcony, studio 4531 had extra window and good view. 2BR 4528 had larger living space and lots of windows on the back side. (4519 twin lakeside?) Rumor has it that 3560 is a view of the dumpster. Enjoyed the bike and boat plan.
Eats:
Roaring Forks "outside cafe" often.
Ohana's: Fun, good, and filling!
Cosmic Ray's: Avoid the cheese steak, salads looked good. Entertainment good.
Boma's Breakfast: Wonderful. Waffles better than expected.
Biergarten: OK food, great band, fun.
VWL: Cooked some, used grills by the beach.
Disney Transport:
We had a hard time getting back from the Contemporary to the VWL, finally gave up on waiting for the boat. Otherwise excellent.
Parks:
Crowds subsided to almost nothing by the Sunday after New Years, the upcoming marathon did not seem to impact crowding at all.
Favorite Quotes:
"It's really soggy out" , Sydney DD3 refering to the fog on Bay LAke one morning.
"YOU LIIIEEED TO ME" Magician at DHR
to Arron my brother in law.
Notable CM's:
Thomas, Lifeguard.
Rose, Boat rental.
All the kind ladies at the Mercantile.
Overview:
We invited family to join us this trip with the theme "Ohana means family, no one gets left behind." We were initially given the infamous studio without a balcony our first night but were able to move next store the next day. Darlene froze one day at Epcot due to the cold wind but otherwise the weather was nice. We used the bikes, water mice, and pontoon boats frequently. Our girls DD 6 and 3 enjoyed swimming as much as any of the parks. The Diamond Horseshoe review in MK was a riot, I can't remember when I last laughed so hard.
When we got back to Indy we went straight to the Disney Store for more shoppng then on to the IMAX Lion King to conclude our Disney adventure. We had a great time but it still feels good to be home.
