To celebrate our 10th anniversery Darlene and I headed over to Disney's Vero Beach Resort 7/6/03. We flew ATA and rented a convertable for the occasion from Dollar. After a room change we ended up in a nice direct ocean view room on the second floor. We headed over to Capt Hirams for live music, many corona's, conch fritters, and an awesome grouper sandwich. The next evening we went on an excursion and watched a 300 lb lagerhead sea turtle lay her eggs and head back into the surf soon after the liftoff of the latest Mars rover. We rested, read, bonded, and boogie boarded daily. We especially enjoyed renting a Hobie Cat for an afternoon ocean sail. The resort looked even more incredible from the sea. We had steak and lobster at Sonya's one night, seafood buffet the next. Mickey treated us to dessert followed by in room breakfast for our anniversery. We left in time for MK opening 7/11/03 and enjoyed the Kingdom tour despite the heat. Carol our guide was very knowledgable and genuine. We followed rumors to EPCOT for Mission Space soft opening which was awesome for me but knocked Darlene out for the rest of the day with motion sickness. Flew back that evening in time to cuddle with our girls before midnight.
