Getting Your Room Request Granted?

Is it difficult to request for exact specifics on your room.
Example- CSR, NS, Cabana 9B, corner room

They say to make your requests general rather than specific, and list them in your order of preference (from most important to least), and you'll have a better chance of getting at least some of them.

The reasoning is that the cast members who assign rooms need to know what you want or value. So rather than saying you want a room "like room 5032" because it's near the elevator, say "I'd like a room near the elevator," for example. In the former case, a CM wouldn't know what to give you if room 5032 is already assigned to someone else, whereas in the latter case the CM could try to accomodate you with another room that's close to the elevator.

(I'm not saying you didn't list them that way; I'm just giving the standard advice for these situations.)

Other than that, it's all down to luck.

:)

When I request when we go I usually say building (what ever #) on the top floor and that's it. I've never had a problem getting the request either. Last March the CM checked me in and said the building I requested and bottom floor. I said is it possible to get top due to I have kids?? She called housekeeping and they said yes they had tons of rooms now available on top floor and they gave her one. They did though asked when I was checking out.

Exact specifics?

I've seen requests as specific as :

Room 3214,3215, or 3217 or... 3314,3315,3317 please.

That's specific. :)

The advice you've been given in this thread is spot on. Keep your requests ordered most important to least ... and if possible.. limit your requests to 3 max. So your request meets all those criteria.

Good luck! :lmao: We've stayed on site at least 10 times or more and have NEVER had our request granted. We still manage to have a great time. :thumbsup2

when all is said and done, it turns out the only way to best get the room you want is to check in as early as possible and hope something's available. even if you get it pre-assigned to you, it's subject to be taken by someone else in most cases.

Yeah if you check in early enough and are willing to wait, you have a much better chance of getting your requests granted.

do you think that with free DDP it will be harder to get your room request made?

when i go to POR i always request non smoking, Magnolia Terrece, bottom floor.

will be request this time be harder to grant that normal?
