Getting your heating/ac unit serviced?

Wondering if someone out there can help us out. My sister just sold her condo and one of the inspector's notes came back that they wanted the heating/ac unti serviced. Its for a 1,000sqft condo. Does anybody know how expensive this is. She doesnt know whether to have it done or just give the new owners money back and have them handle it--thanks in advance

Do they just mean have it tuned up? I.e. checking it over, checking for freon, and having the air filters changed etc? Around my neck of the woods that is about $75 or so. More if anything needs to be replaced. Unfortunately - I honestly don't remember if there would be a transportation charge on top of that.

My guess is this is a real local thing - and highly dependant on whether or not the HVAC workers belong to a union.

we have it done yearly and it usually is around $100 or so.
