Getting your drink on in the most magical place on earth

I am hoping for a November trip with just my DW. We plan to tour the WS in style this time. We just got back from our first trip to WDW. We had taken 6 kids with us and it was more of a vacation for them(We were both counting 1-6 before we made a move anywhere). Spring break crowds were thick. Shooting for the dining plan this time so we can eat and relax with a few drinks here and there.

I don't think I could handle being as drunk as some that i had seen in the WS. I think I am 10x more excited about our couple vacation then I was for our first real family vacation. I think I spent too much time worrying about losing kids. We only had 2 close calls but they knew what to do and asked a CM if they could call us. We caught up with them each time just as they pulled out the card with our phone numbers.

Reading through this thread was a great relief to know their are so many that get to enjoy Disney while tipsy. =o)

29 days until we can drink our way around the world! I am looking forward to trying the avocado margarita at La Cava! Hopefully they will hand make it.

Our fav places to day drink at the resorts are at the Wave in the Contemporary and later on at Bluezoo Lounge. The Wave is a short walk or monorail ride from the MK during the day. We like the staff at the Wave better than at Bluezoo, but the cocktails at Bluezoo are unmatched. I'm dreaming of the Bees Knees and crab nachos now!

Another favorite drink is the sake martini at California Grill.

I'm right there with you! If it's cool then it's blood orange. If it's warm avocado

Next time I go into La Cava, I'll be a little wary about the margaritas since they've started premixing them. When I go, I'll ask what they can make fresh instead. I haven't had a good Tequila Sunrise in quite a while. ;)

Ahhhhh.....the Wave.....

Was in WDW last month at the BLT. Was my sister's first visit to this Resort. Walked into the Wave at the CR, ordered a couple drinks, walked back out and gave my sister a tour of the grounds while enjoying our cocktails..... good times!!:thumbsup2

Heading back down in Nov with DH! Can't wait to Bar hop!!! :cool1:

Ok, most awesome thread EVER!!! I have found all my fellow kindred spirits. hehehe When we were at WDW in 2007, DH and I said we were going to "Drink around the world". One night my parents stayed at the rental house with the girls, and we only made it to the pub, had 2 pints each, and thought it was too expensive to enjoy more. (we were quite broke at the time). We were back in 2012 during F&W, and went out and actually did drink around the world, and we had so much fun!! This time, going back in October again, F&W again, we know what we're in for, we're budgeting alcohol money, and even though we have our kids, we will still enjoy some of these drinks. First time staying on property, so will be nice to not have to drive! And thanks for the recommendation of Garden Grocer. We are flying in, staying at POR, so it's nice to know we can get some stuff delivered to the room... :)

1 piece of advice here. Don't shop, online, while you are hungry. You will over buy and unless you plan on taking food home you will throw out a lot. We purchased a couple of bottles of wine (last time) and only finished one. Luckily we have an owner's locker so we put it there but we would have ended giving it away if we didn't have a place to put it.

We had the opposite problem...we drank all our wine and it was gone about halfway into our last trip :lmao:

This thread is awesome! I already had a list of all the special drinks I need to try from the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival - now I've got even more... Good thing we are spending an extra day in Epcot this time!!

These are some I can't wait to have:
Strawberry rossini – Prosecco and marinated strawberries
La Vie en Rose frozen slush – Vodka, Grey Goose Orange, St. Germain Liquor, and white and red cranberry juice
Pinepple Paradise with Yuzu Slushie – Frozen blend of sweet sake, pineapple juice and crème, flavored with a hint of Yuzu citrus juice
Pineapple soft serve with Parrot Bay coconut rum

I'm so glad I saw this thread. I told my husband about it and I almost made a grown man cry of joy! What about mimosas? Any chance they are available with any breakfasts anywhere? (I mostly mean parks, because we don't venture to many resorts - we like to stay in the parks)

Thanks!

I know they have them at Kona and GFC but I can't think of any places in a park that have them.

We take an adults trip to Disney at least once a year and have a BLAST! Some of our favorites are La Cava and Tutto Gusto in Epcot, the lounge inside the Boardwalk Inn, Mizner's at the Grand Floridian and the bar at California Grill!
We do a slightly different Monorail Crawl. We start at Mizner's for a martini, move to the Polynesian for an appetizer and a fruity drink of some sort at Tambu Lounge, then move to the bar at the California Grill for a drink and to share a flatbread, then take the boat to the Wilderness Lounge for dessert and one last drink :flower3: So much fun!
Also, not sure if this has been mentioned or not but there is a great Happy Hour at the House of Blues :thumbsup2
