Getting your drink on in the most magical place on earth

We like the Wave bar at Contemporary, Tambu lounge at Poly, Mizner's at GF, and Territory Lounge at WL....make it a monorail crawl and add in a boat ride to WL!

bluezoo at the Dolphin is another great choice.

I'm going to second Territory Lounge. I went there on my solo trip last year and it was wonderful! It's a quiet little place that I would love to go back to. I had the Scottish raspberry lemon drop and it was delicious! :thumbsup2

Monorail crawl sounds amazing! Definitely going to have to check out all of these. Thanks everyone! :drinking1

I don't drink anymore, but dh takes cases of beer with us and uses his resort mug to carry them around. We use to have a ball (before kids) resort hopping with a drink at each resort. Each resort has a Happy Hour with different drink specials.

Oh thanks for the tip! My DFi is getting beer delivered too, and I will have to remember to take out Contigo mugs to put his beer in when we're walking around the resort or at the pool. Bonus: they are "spillproof"!

Bluezoo is my favorite...lots of unique cocktails... pricey but wonderful
Next would be Crew Cup at the Yacht Club

My husband and I are big craft beer drinkers and are looking forward to getting some brews that can only be found in that area/side of the country. This is our first trip to WDW and we'll be staying at POFQ.

Any recommendations or must haves as far as beers?

POFQ has Arbita beers on Tap. Purple Haze, Turbodog and one other. I can confirm they are all very nice.

I've done a monorail craw and several drinks around the world. I have purchased the "kids" passport and wrote each drink that I had and then asked the cast member who served me to sign their name and "toast" in their native language. It was a ton of fun.

You can also purchase "passports" from this website: http://www.drinkaroundtheworldshowcase.com/

I've used them before and got a lot of questions from cast members. They were great conversation starters.

So choices:

BoG and France both sell Kronenbourg 1664 - great beer
Germany - German wines and beers!
France - Kir Royale
Mexico - La Cava Tequilla - so much better than the stand outside
UK - Pimm's Cup.

Poly - a Lapu Lapu

I looked on the garden grocer site, and for beer/wine it says Id required. Do we need to be in the room when it's delivered?

you don't need to be in the room. you need to fax them you id ahead of time to purchase and they leave it in the lobby. you can call for it when you get there.

Someone said whole foods is delivering now, wonder if alcohol is included in that? Their selection will be much better than garden grocer.

I'll have to check into that! That would be nice if I could get some WF goodies delivered. :thumbsup2

Report back if you find out they deliver alcohol. ;-)

We are driving so we can bring whatever we want or, ahem need, but it's nice for others to know.

I myself love to order a good margarita from the bar at my resort or epcot :p but like other also suggest its also a good idea to buy some at at store and just store it in your room :)

According to the whole foods site, you can indeed buy alcohol. I'm not sure if we're allowed to post links or not. But if you google whole foods orlando delivery, you'll find the information you need.

Woohoo, so psyched about this thread. :cool1: Half of my planning for our October trip has been about where and when to booze.

We're going to be drinking around World Showcase for the first time, and it's going to be during F&W. For you vets out there, how much do you typically spend just sampling some of the kiosks around WS? Do they just have beer and wine or will there be a ton of mix drinks too? Or for mix drinks should i just research the Epcot standards and stick with wine/beer at the festival kiosks? Will the info on what will be available and how much it costs come out in advance or do we have to wait for the festival to start and for people to come back with firsthand reports?

BTW, hope to see some of you with drink in hand the first week of October this year! :thumbsup2

$30 delivery fee plus mandatory tip per the WF website. Ayyyy.

Yeah, it is pricey but kicking around the idea of doing this. Even with the $30 and tip it will save me a fair bit when you consider that a Sam Adams at Yacht Club will run me $8.

No kidding. And you can actually get decent craft beer.

Garden Grocer only charges $12ish I think? We love their service!

Haven't checked this thread in a couple weeks. So very sad and disappointed that La Cava and Dawa Bar are using premade margarita mixes..... What else?

Disney does a decent job with craft beers (MUCH better than a few years ago). Not sure where you are from but Cigar City is a Florida brewery that has a few well regarded beers including the Jai Alai IPA that is difficult to get outside the southeast but is available here and there at Disney. If you like IPAs the Sweetwater IPA (from a brewery in Atlanta) is also good. Terrapin Hopsecutioner is good as well (from a Baltimore brewery I believe). Port Orleans will have several options from Abita, a New Orleans brewery. Abita has some decent beers. The Birra Amiata Contessa Italian Pale Ale that you can get at Epcot is very good, can be difficult to find in other places and very overpriced at Disney. I was lucky enough to get it on tap at Tutto Gusto and if you can find it there then highly recommended.

A great website for beer at Disney is http://beersandears.net/.

Terrapin is FANTASTIC but they are in Athens, GA, not Baltimore.

Have any of you taken bottles in your checked luggage? I'm assuming it would be fine with bubble wrap. Cocktails in the room might be nice before we walk to EP for more cocktails ;)
