Getting twitchy about booking for March 08

We're at SSR in Dec so I'm wanting something different for March 08, I've still got nearly a month before I can book and I'm getting nervous about whether we'll get the reservations or if I should plan for a week earlier.

Any opinions on whether I'm likely to get the following, all are for studios:

March 9-14 OKW
March 16-19 BCV, BWV or AKL
March 19-22 HHI (21st is Good Friday).

You can call today and check availability. If it is available today, it will likely be available a month from now, and at least you'll know. I think you have the best chance of getting a preferred room at BWV, an OKW room or a room at AKV (if they remain ahead of schedule with construction, as has been reported on these boards).

I would relax a little though. The hysteria on these boards about difficulty booking at 7 months is (flame suit on) overstated. If you want specifics (Grand Villa, standard BWV, Boardwalk View), that can be tough, but this year we went in March during the busy spring break season, and we booked 3 months prior to travel. We could stay anywhere but VWL in a studio, and anywhere in a one-bedroom.

We are splitting our March stay from the 1-15 between OKW and AKV. We are NOT in studios though, and I would think a studio would be the most difficult to get during that time. The last choice will be toughest, since it is close to Easter.

I've got a ressie at SSR for 3/10-14/08 since DS's marching band was chosen to march in WDW that week, but with some extra points sitting there waiting to be used I've been patiently waiting till my 7 month window to see what else is available...hadn't even considered just calling MS to check now. DOH!

So, I just called to check for my dates and was told there was availability at AKV, BCV, BWV preferred view only, and WLV. I didn't ask about SSR...already have it and have stayed at OKW before and am looking to stay at a DVC property we've not tried yet.

I'm pretty flexible with the resorts I inquired about and we're good on points so even a 1BDR wouldn't be a bad thing for us.

So, to the OP, give MS a call and check what might be available now for those dates then you can plan better...maybe decide which resort, room, etc. has priority and how many points you're willing to use to get the location you want.


It gives me hope that we'll be able to switch out when I do hit the 7 months window. I'll have to cancel SSR first, but it shouldn't be a huge problem.
