Getting to the Ship Early?

Pick a PAT regardless, if you are allowed, is my recomendation, especially if you are interested in boarding before 1 pm.

IRRC, currently the only ones who can't even pick a PAT, like CL, are those that booked DCL transfers and booked hotel thru DCL, at MCO, not the resorts.

Oh, and all that noise is debateabale, and seems to vary seasonally too. :lmao:

Point is, pick a PAT if allowed. Choose the earlist time, if you plan to be at the port before noon, IMO.

Hope that makes sense. :)

lol, sorry but I will pass on the trains. I did just watch the castaway cay one and it is great as well. I may just have my (grown) children watch so they know what to expect. you explained very nicely.

thanks for sharing.

This.

IMO, if you are able to choose a PAT online, just do it, it takes 5 secs. We stayed at the Hyatt (booked on our own) and chose the earliest PAT (10:30), we took the first bus to Port around 9:30. We arrived just before 10:30 and received boarding #2. A family we are chatting with on the bus received a higher number and had not selected a PAT. We had booked the transfers ahead of time and during online check in I had the option to select PAT. So I did. Easy as pie.

I just think that there is no harm in choosing one if you have the option :)

Great video. It shows things rarely caught on video BTW.

I viewed the video, and we're glad/fortunate we have never seen lines/crowds like that pre boarding. And hopefully never will.

This was last sailing before price change. Everything went great. Only issue was Vibe was short handed workers so they closed pool area complains have been registered with DCL.
In usual Disney fashion the ship sailed on time and did not here anyone complaining.

Hmmm...Is this assumption, or fact? The only passengers I've heard recently who did not have to select a PAT are concierge, CC platinum, and those with pre-cruise plans booked directly through DCL.

This poster has indicated she has DCL transfers booked, prior to online checkin, and still had to select a PAT:

I know DCL has tweaked their PAT system and boarding number system a few times in the past couple of years. At various points, different passengers were blocked from selecting a PAT during online check-in. But since going to the system of "boarding number is directly tied to the PAT" the only ones who I've heard could not select a
PAT are those I mentioned above - concierge, CC platinum and passengers with pre-cruise plans booked through DCL -- there does seem to be some question lately about those booked at MCO Hyatt, but it was my understanding those who did not select a PAT were booked there directly by DCL. So maybe DCL is currently tweaking the process more. But I don't believe that all passengers arriving by DCL transfer can disregard selecting a PAT. That could change, but I don't believe it's the current process.

Two state rooms, two reservations, same PAT, both checked in sametime different positions at counter, one was 2, one was 3. Guess which card we used.

I stand by my suggestion that as long as the online check-in allowed one to select a PAT, passengers should do so regardless of transportation to port.

Two staterooms, two reservations, same PAT 10:30, both checked right next to each other at counter. One given group 3 one group 2, guess which one we used.

in all my sailings on the fantasy i have never seen this pool area used. i spend most of my time top deck so i am always looking over. i don't think it was just your cruise that didn't get the benefit of this, i've read other complaints of it as well.
what a waste imo.
