We are planning a fairly last minute trip to CA (as far as Disneyland trips go). My husband wants this trip to be a beach/relaxing vacation but he has agreed to make 1 day a Disneyland day. (We have passes and MaxPass already) Normally we stay on park so I don’t know anything about the best ways to get to the park if you have to drive from a little ways. TIA for your ideas and feedback.

I don’t think Uber will work for us. We are 3 adults and 5 kids (10,8,5,3,2). Would it? - should have mentioned that before.
You'd have to bring carseats for the 5, 3, and 2 year olds (Uber does not provide yet in LA, and even places they do, I don't think requesting 3 seats is an option), so Uber likely wouldn't work.

I assume you are renting a car? If so, figure out what parking lot is closer to where you are staying (Toy Story from the south, Mickey and Friends from the north, I believe), and drive to that parking lot. Pay the $20, park, ride the tram or bus in. Easy peasy! I think the parking opens like an hour before the gates open.

Which beach are you staying at? There is a big difference between driving to DLR from Santa Monica or from San Diego (the train might be an option from SD). Lansky car service can provide car seats, but I don't know if they can do three at a time. You might call them to see what they can do and to compare the prices to car rental rates (if you won't already have your own rental) plus parking ($20/day at a Disney lot). Otherwise, as the pp said, decide which Disney lot will be closer to you (usually there are only two to choose from) and park there.

We are staying in Laguna Beach.

If you will be driving your own rental car, then parking in the Toy Story lot will be closer for you. You will be able to board the free shuttle buses in the TS lot which will take you right to the Harbor side drop off, in front of bag check.
