Getting to restaurants at other hotels

We're flying, and won't be renting a car. I know you can't take the buses from hotel to hotel, would it work out to take a bus to the parks' bus stops, then take another bus to a hotel to eat? I'm wondering how much time it would take also. Thanks!

We usually allow 1 hour to get from resort to resort. It usually takes us less, but I like to be safe. If you are going to a resort on the monorail(GF, Poly, CR), you can take a bus to MK, then the monorail to the resort. If you are going to one of the Epcot resorts(Y&B Clubs, Swan & Dolphin, BW) you can take a bus to MGM(or Epcot if you have passes for that day) and then take a boat or walk to the resort.

Besides transferring at a park, you can also make a bus transfer at DTD.

A good strategy to use if you want to eat at any of the Disney hotels is to go to the theme park in that area. For example, if you want to eat at the Contemporary, Polynesian, or Grand Floridian plan on the Magic Kingdom either before or after you eat. Same with the restaurants on the Boardwalk or the Beach/Yacth clubs. Plan on either the Studios or Epcot for these since you can walk to either park from that area or take a boat.
Saves a lot of running around in circles.

You could have a little trouble if you are trying to eat late. (after parks have closed). We had a problem getting back to the AKL after the luau at Poly. We had to take a bus to Downtown disney and then a bus back to the AKL. This was all fairly late, so it was a little bit of a pain.
