How does a person get to Port Canaveral from Disney if you don't drive? I am planning a trip for the month of July for 2 adults & 1 child and I am considering taking a cruise to the Bahamas or somewhere like that, but not with the Disney Cruise Line.

I read somewhere that the Port is about an hour away from Disney. Are there buses that go there?

Thank you for any info.

There are lots of car services that will bring you from Disney World to Port Canaveral. There is no public bus service but there are some shuttle services for a list check this out link:

Other than Disney, Carnival and Royal Caribbean have departures from Port Canaveral.
Yes, without traffic it is about an hour from the parks to Port Canaveral.

Need to get yourself from Disney to Orlando International Airport where there are options to include transfers from your cruiseline, limo services, renting a car for the day, etc.

This subject is well-discussed over at Cruise Critic. Go to: http://boards.cruisecritic.com and click on East Coast Departures

We did this for a Carnival cruise last year- we stayed on property and bought the airport transfers from Carnival. We took Magical Express back to the airport at the end of our resort stay.

We flew home at the end of the cruise so we took the transfer shuttle right back to the airport. It was a little time-consuming but not too bad.

You can get picked up at Disney by a car service. I would think it would run you around $130.00 to the Port and than $100.00 back to MCO. You could pick up the Carnival transfer for three which runs around $50.00 per person. Take a taxi to MCO from Disney, picking up the bus at the airport. However there is waiting time in a bus transfer.
