Getting to/Parking at the Airport

How do you Park at or Get to the Airport when you go to WDW?

  • Park at an Airport Lot

  • Park at an Outside Lot nearby

  • Stay at a Local Hotel and use Complimentary Parking/Shuttles

  • Get Dropped off by Family/Shuttle/Limo

I am curious. What do most of you do when you are going to WDW by Air? Park at the Airport, park at a nearby lot, stay at a nearby hotel and use complimentary parking/shuttles, or get dropped off by family/shuttle/limo?

Any particular pointers for parking at Philadelphia Airport? I'll be flying out of there in a few days for about a week.

If I were you I would check to see if there are parking lots near the airport with shuttles. Airport parking is expensive, the privately owned lots are usually cheaper.

we park at the airport lots. around here it seems like the airport lots and the private lots are almost the same, $$$-wise.

I usually use the airport lot or get a ride, but my parents, who are going along this time have used outside lots in the past.

Belle4 - You sound like you know more about this than you let on. Do you usually leave from PHL or EWR? How did you park on that last cruise that you took? ;)

When flying from CLE, we park at one of the off-airport lots, which are usually cheaper for long term parking. From CAK we can park cheaply right at the airport. This is probably not quite as cost-effective in large cities where the cost of parking is prohibitive. On our last trip to WDW we stayed with friends from NYC who would never even think of paying to park at LaGuardia Airport for a week. They find someone to give them a ride.

IT completely depends on the airports. BWI has a great long-term lot, you can park for under $50 a week. Yet our own local State College Airport is something rediculous (close to maybe $20 per day?). So it depends...

We usually drive ourselves to the airport and park at the extended parking- parking lot at Newark. It is well lit, easy to find, not too expensive and has good security. I like knowing my car will be there when we arrive in Newark!

When we fly out of Pittsburgh, we park at Charlie Browns(5 minute ride). For the week there, if you are a AAA member, it is only $30.

When we fly out of Cleveland, we park at my brothers house and he takes us. He is only 15 minutes from Hopkins Airport.

If it is winter and we are having a lot of snow, I prefer the airport deck parking. At any other time, I use the off-airport parking with shuttles. I call around to see who has the best AAA rate and use them. All our lots in Detroit have pretty good shuttle service.

Where I live, which is in the South East, off-site parking is VERY cheap - how about $1.75 a day!!

In LAX, which of course is ruled by the automobile, parking can be as high as $35.00 a day off-site, and over $60.00 on-premises.

But regional variations have the greatest influence on pricing. Research your options and become enlightened...
