If I wanted to be at MK AT 7:00-7:30 for a 9:00 opening what would my options be? When does the ferry start running? What time could I valet park at the Contemporary and make my way over?

I know buses aren't an option. Is there another option I'm missing?

We're hoping to be really really early. Thanks!

Are you staying at a WDW Resort?
The buses to the MK gates begin running about 6:30AM every day.

Otherwise, you can valet park at the Contemporary and walk to MK.

I thought the buses started at 7:30? That's what time they started for us last year in September.

Normally you can get the bus before 7:30.

I'm just wondering if there is a reason you want to be there so much before rope drop?

The buses have been running, from resorts to parks, by 6:30am for years now...so long, in fact, that I really can't remember when they started doing that! They don't run as frequently as buses do an hour or so prior to park opening, but they do run. If you just miss a bus at, say, 6:35, you may have to wait until 6:50ish for the next one. So plan accordingly.
The only reason I can think of to get there that early is to be considered for the park opening family or to be assured of being the first in to get to a particular attraction. But.....a word of advice. CMs don't necessarily choose the first family to arrive as the opening family. Also....if you get there 90 mins early in order to get to, say, SDMT, so you can ride with no wait? You have just stood there, for 90 mins. Why not get to the park a bit later and then wait for SDMT for 30 mins?
Or, you could have a completely different reason.

Maybe they want pics near the front gate with no other people in them?

OP, I do think I remember bus service starting at 6:30.

Or OP might want to increase the chances of being picked as the MK family-of-the-day (or whatever it's called).

If you are offsite it will be trickier. We were just there over the memorial day weekend, and found slim pickins at the TTC early in the AM. I wanted to get the park early to try and rope drop MT, so we arrived at the TTC around 7:30. I thought that the monorail would be running that early, but I was told only the resort monorail usually runs before 8am, and the two days we were there early, the monorail was having problems. I asked about buses, but no one seemed to know what I was talking about, and so we had to wait around until 8am when they started running the ferry. We still got there early, but it was frustrating.

1. The resort monorail does run well before 8AM (starts between 7:00 and 7:30AM.)
The resort monorail also stops at MK and TTC, and all guests can ride it unless there is a specific reason that
they are limiting it that morning (like MK AM EMH.)

2. Yes. THAT was the mitigating factor in this case.

3. If the resort monorail was not running correctly, they HAD to have special busses running.
Otherwise how would the thousands of guests staying at the monorail resorts get to the early morning
destinations normally served by monorail? And, they need to get off-site guests from the TTC to MK for
the early MK tours.

The buses load to the east side of the TTC building.

Just to confirm, resort buses do indeed start running at 6:30. We have taken them quite a number of times over the past 7 years at that time to be at MK for early breakfast.

Additionally, you can Valet park at the Contemporary at pretty much any time you want to, and walk over to MK from there.

Hahaha! I'm sorry for not replying, I was offline! It's definitely not for an attraction. It's all a part of my 900 step plan to be Family of the Day!

Thanks everyone! I'll be on the bus time no later than 6:15 and I'll be on the first bus! If I don't have one by 6:45ish, we'll drive and valet park!

And yes, we're staying at CBR!!!!
If you are staying at CBR, then you might need to be at the bus stop around 5am.

We just returned and I must say the bus service to MK (heck, to all parks) was horrific. The shortest time we waited the entire week was 30 minutes for a bus. Unreal.

I've found the moderate resorts generally have god awful bus service, but that's just my experience.

I'm so sorry! That totally wasn't my experience last year! The most I ever waited was like 10 mins and that was on the longer end of things. What village were you in?

Also, I have no problem being out there even earlier if needed!

We were in Martinique. Never staying in CBR again. My wife and I are generally pretty understanding and acceptable of things out of our control, but this was the worst Disney experience we've ever had.

We had decent service at POR, but CBR was just awful. We talked last night and are considering a value resort next time unless I hit the lottery and we can afford the GF!
