Hello everyone,

We will be at the Fort starting Monday for 10 days and we can't wait. We are coming from Mass. Now for the question:

We would like to go to the Magic Kingdom and take advantage of the early opening. I woiuld like to arrive at the gate by 7:30 AM. What is the best way to get there from the Fort?

I know we can take the boat or a bus, but do they start running early enough. Last time we visited in '05, we did the same thing but it was foggy and the boats were delayed, so we had to take a series of busses to get there by 7:30. Anyone know how to do that now?

Thanks,

Drew

The MK boats start running about an 30 to 60 minutes before the earliest park opening (including EMH). The resort boats start running earlier (6:45?) so you could take one of them to the Contemporary and then either walk or hop on the Monorail to the MK. I think the Orange bus will now take you the the WL (it changes designation at the Outpost bus loop) and there you can transfer to a MK bus, but I don't know when that MK bus starts running in the morning.

Just be prepared. On our last FW trip it took one hour to get from our campsite to the ticket turnstile at MK--which is a ridiculous amount of time when you can hear music from a stage inside the park. We made the trip about 8 times that trip, each time it was 1 hour, so it wasn't a fluke thing. Maybe, if you're staying close enough to walk to the marina you would make it in less time.

Yep, take the 6:45 am boat to the Contemporary, then walk to MK.

We always take the boat from the fort to the MK -- never taken more than 20 minute from our site!

We stayed in Loop 600. It took about 10 minutes to walk to the Marina. Walked right onto a boat to the Contemp. Another 10 minutes to Contemp and then another 10-15 minutes to walk to the MK. So about 35 minutes if you do it that way. We left the Marina at 7:30 and there was still no boat in sight to get to the MK directly. We like to think we made the best choice. We made it to the MK, redeemed our vouchers at Guest Relations and still got into the MK at rope drop. But it was very close and a bit hectic :)
