Hi everyone!! My friend and I are arriving in WDW on Saturday December 5th. Our plane lands at 11:56am, we are using DME to get to PO Riverside. After checking in, we are taking the boat to Disney Springs for a 2:30 lunch reservation. Do you think we can make it in time or should we make a later reservation?

I'd give you a 50/50 chance.

Where are you planning on having lunch?

I think that is a very risky idea. Even if your plane lands exactly on time, it's going to be a good 10-15 minutes to get off the plane, then get down to ME and may have to wait on a bus. At the earliest, I would say you COULD be at POR by 1:30. You then have to check-in, walk to the boat dock, and wait for a boat. If absolutely everything goes perfectly, you might make it, but it sounds stressful. I wouldn't chance it with the new cancellation policy because if you don't make it, you will have to pay the $20 fee.

with a Dec trip what happens if your flight is delayed by weather are you ready for the late cancellation fee? everything is going to have to go right to make it. if your plan is to go there maybe look at a CS like Wolfgang Puck instead of TS. no fee if you are late or miss because of delays

Thanks everyone, I will talk to my friend. I appreciate the info, this is only our 2nd time staying on site and we had our own car last time, this time we will not have a car. You are all so full of info, such a great resource!

I would just plan on grabbing a bite to eat at the resort and then plan a dinner at DTD instead of a late lunch. It will be much less stressful

If you flight lands, on-time, at 11:56, that means you are off the plane around 12:15ish and walking out of the gate area. That gets you to DME area around 12:30ish. Wait for a bus, onto the bus and ride to POR....it's now 1:30. You'll want to go to your room, if it's ready, and freshen up a bit. And we all love heading to our room to check it out as soon as possible!! You could be at the boat dock by 2ish..wait for the boat, ride to DTD....you most likely won't make it. The ride is about 15-20 mins, the wait can be between 1 and 30 mins!!! Depends on when the last boat left the dock and how many people want to ride.
We normally say not to book any ADRs for at least 4 hrs after your flight arrival. The one time I had to be someplace, about 90 mins after getting to my resort, my flight was delayed 3 hrs!!! So, the plane was departing Boston at the time I should have been landing in Orlando...missed my function!!!!
