ok i'll start....

i did get one last friday. and all weekend i've felt crappy. and i always feel crappy after i have it. my arm hurts for days after too! i did not get one last year. my mom is nutty over getting hers. she starts talking about it the 1st day of fall!
how about you??

Yes. I get one every year at work. It's free, and I've found that if I get a flu shot, I don't have nearly as many colds or viruses during the year.

The boys and I got ours by the 2nd week of October.
None of us had adverse reactions this year. Usually our arms are sore. I heard this year was supposed to be really bad for that. I think the dose of tylenol before we head out the door helps.
Don't know if DH got his yet or not. They were supposed to do it at his work for the employees. Thanks for reminding me to ask him. He was the only one to not get it last year and boy-oh-boy was he sorry. He got the flu twice! But not us, and even being around him so much, we were fine.

I have every other year- they always came to the school and gave them to teachers that wanted them. I did not this year. I am not in a groups that is supposed to get them.

The kids are getting the flu mist this Wednesday- I know, I know, I procrastinated! I kept putting it off because I was afraid DS(3) was going to have to have the shot and I was skerd. I haven't gotten one, not sure if I will or not.

Nope. Dr recommends we not get it cause we are all pretty healthy to begin with.

The kids and I do not.. however DH does do to his work environment... He had a cold all weekend so he isn't a happy camper...although this is the first time he has had a cold in 2 years.....so he really shouldn't complain!!!

Yes, I got mine. They give them free at work. I had to go in special to employee health since I never saw anyone in the hall, and wasn't there when they were coming into the departments. And YES my arm HURT!!! For days! And a big bruise too, so I think she must have hit something small in there...just my luck...

DH got his at work too (we work at the same hosp). DS20 got his at work (Home Depot) for free too.

The only one that didn't get it is DS16, but he doesn't have any risk factors, so he should be OK.

I got the shot last year, and STILL got a case in Feb. I was sooooo sick from it. I can just imagine if I didn't have the shot, I would have been in the hosp for sure. I was almost in anyway...

Yes, I get one every year. In 2005 I got the flu and then bronchitis. I was so sick. I missed a week of work and ended up on 5 prescriptions! My doctor told me to always get the flu shot after that and I have and <knock on wood> have not gotten the flu since. DH started getting the shot after we were married and gets it every year now.

Same here. They tell me every year DS13 should have one because of his asthma, but he never has.

I only ever got it once and that was the year I got the flu! I won't even think about getting one until I'm pregnant, then we'll see.

I think i got one once when I was pregnant. That's it. 2 of the kids got it,
3rd had an ear infection, so we had to re-schedule. I have no idea what shots the army gives to DH. I don't think I want to know.

Nope. I think I got it a few years, but I stopped once I realized that it only works for the respiratory flu, not the stomach flu. I get the stomach flu every year without fail - darn germy customers never fail to pass their germs on!
