Do you put a train around the base of your Christmas tree?

We do not put a train around the tree however we put a Disney monorail around our tree. It has a castle, along with the Contemporary and Epcot. When we first got the monorail set, DD insisted on running the monorail with the audio constantly. We'd go thru so many sets of batteries, however now we only run it part of the time.

Nope, no train. I've always wanted one, but just can't spend the $$$ on it.

No train..only because DH can't find "just" what he wants...but he so wants one..maybe I can talk him into a monorail.... :)

We used to growing up.
My dad put in on a piece of 4x8 plywood and would then hoist it up to the garage ceiling every year when he was done. Rope & four little eyehooks. Not sure how it fall on us.

It was a simple figure 8 layout with the houses nailed down. Only the nativity set was moveable. I won't tell you about how heathen we were when we were little. Poor little baby Jesus did NOT get tied up to the railroad tracks with silver tinsel pieces.

we sure do! we did the thomas train the year bubba was born, then last year Santa brought him the lego train. so that's what's under there right now. and i just told him that we have to take it down this weekend to make room for the gifts and that we don't want Santa to step on the train and break it!

i'd love to put the monorail under our tree! we have the monorail but need some buildings to go with it!

We used to have a train going around the bottom of the tree, but it got to be a pain so we got rid of it. It was hard to put the presents under the tree with the train there. Also, the cats never thought anything about running through and knocking all the cars off the track. It seemed I was always putting the train back on the tracks multiple times a day. Now that we don't have the train, the cats don't play under the tree!:confused3

I grew up in a train fanatics household. One year my Dad even had a gondola going up the fireplace. The train would take up half the room and their was no room for presents.

We had a monorail until it broke. The screw was stripped and we couldn't change the batteries. IMO it's not any good unless it works. We plan on replacing it this year when we go to Disney.

My dream is to have 2 trees. One all disney and one everything else. I used to work for TDS so I have TONS of christmas stuff. All the animated figures, the old Christmas balls, even a box full of Christopher Radko disney ornaments. Our tree is pretty Disney heavy now, but I would just love all disney. I even have MM and MN tree toppers that move. They are gorgeous and in storage in Jersey. I need a bigger house!!!

We didn't have a train around the tree. Before we moved to the parsonage we were looking at getting one of the Disney trains and mounting it to go allaround the ceiling throughout the common areas of the house.

We did have a set of calloppe (sp?) horses that played Christmas carols though- it had 20 that it played through if you kept it on but it always went in the same order and started over again when turned off and then back on.

No, we don't have a train around the tree. I do, however, have an entire playroom covered with Thomas trains and track. Does that count? :rotfl2:

My house, no train. Growing up, sometimes we had a train, sometimes not, sometimes the Disney monorail. My Dad does do trains, but when you have 34 trees, sometimes there isn't room for the train.

Why stop there...this is my parent's house from several years ago, before they went to Florida.

We had one for about 10 years, then it quit working and we have never replace it.
