Friend has some DVC points she's letting us get for a pretty good deal, so we're thinking about heading down for a short trip in early 2021 that will coincide with my son's 21st birthday. We usually stay on the Boardwalk area, but we're all kind of intrigued by the Riviera right now. My only concern is the transportation options, as (assuming things are open), we may be spending some post park-closure time at Boardwalk area or Disney Springs, now that they kid can have a few cocktails. Given we might be at the bar, we wont have a rental car.

Is Uber/Lyft the best option for getting back to the resort, assuming Skyliners won't be running when they kick us out of Kimono's ? I don't mind adding on an extra cost at the end of the night, my concern is more about people's comfort level using ride-share in the Covid-19 world.

I've managed to make about 20 trips to Disney in my life, and can count on one hand the number of times we've taken a bus ... but I hear Riviera's busses are pretty smooth.

Only you can make a decision about your comfort using it during COVID, really.

Agree with FCDub above, and I'd apply that to ALL forms of transportation in the Covid world.

How much do you trust the individual Uber driver's car cleanliness late at night? How much do you trust the cleanliness of a Disney bus at the end of a shift? No matter what form of transport you take, I would have concerns.

One thing to keep in mind with Uber is their capacity limits have changed due to Covid. No more rider in the front seat, so X capacity is now 3 riders and XL is 5. If that pushes your party up to XL, in the Orlando market that's about a 30% fare increase (which is very reasonable -- in Miami, it would be more than double).

Thanks for your thoughts. To be clear, I absolutely agree - different people will have different feelings about using a ride share. In my home town (Detroit) the ones I've used post Covid are very conscientious - disinfectants and wipes in the cars, plastic screening between driver and passengers ... I feel no more worried using an Uber here than I would riding on a Disney bus or the Monorail. I guess my question is more is Uber/Lyft the only real option, or will bus service and Skyliners run late enough to alleviate some of the concern.
