Getting to DTD from Caribbean Beach Resort

On check out day at Caribbean beach resort, we want to spend a few hours at DTD before getting on the road home. Are we okay to take a bus from CBR to DTD, even if we will be leaving that day? Then just get the bus back to resort and go from there? I am correct assuming that we can use the facilities at our resort on check out day as well? Thanks!
