Hey everybody!!! :wave2:

Okay, so tickets are purchased, reservations are made, and now I'm down to little detail type stuff!

I remember reading that the DLH does some kind of shuttle service from the airport to the hotel, and I'm just wondering if it's free, or how much it costs.

Also, is it the preferred way to "travel", or is there something better to use?

Thanks, all! :goodvibes

I believe that you are taking about the Disneyland Express. And no, it is not free it is
$15/adult/1 way - $2 off if you buy on-line
$13/child/1 way - $2 off if you buy on-line

there is also Super Shuttle and a Taxi

HTH!

We like to take Super Shuttle. I have found them to be very efficient. Also it helps if you make a reservation in advance. Avalon (Gail) posted this link for coupons from the Anaheim/Orange County Convention & Visitor Bureau. At the bottom, there's a discount code (Z4M3D) that gives $2 off, making it $8 each way. I think that's a bargain.

Thanks Rocketeer! I think we'll just Super Shuttle it. Oh, and thanks for the coupon link too! :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

We're flying into LGB next month, and we were planning on catching a taxi when we arrived, but booking in advance through Super Shuttle is appealing, also. How much do you normally tip the shuttle driver? And, have they been dependable about picking up from the hotel at the designated time?

...All these little details. :upsidedow Thanks!

When you go online, you can add the tip then or pay at pickup/drop off. I usually wait until then. (There is a suggested amount noted to tip when you book online.) If the driver makes the trip fun (they can be funny) or gets me there quick, I will give more than suggested. Just depends. You will choose a window of time for pickup. They get you back to the airport in plenty of time. They call me the day before with a reminder. They are usually there before me when my window of time (15 minutes) starts. In the multiple times/years we have used them, there was one time where they did not show up. I called and someone was there within minutes. They refunded my charge.

Have you used Disneyland Express? Any good/bad comments? I have seen the buses at the Resort, but never knew how to use them. Thank you for adding the link.

Michelle, you might want to double check the price. Weirdly enough, it's more expensive to shuttle from LGB than from SNA.

SNA, it's $10 flat each person, each way. Then you use your $2 off coupon and it's $8 each way. $16 RT plus a tip, hard to beat!

LGB, whoops, it's $35 per person each way, plus $9. each additional person in your party. So even with your coupon, it's still an additional $25 for your party over SNA. Very strange. No idea why it's like this.

I personally have never used them, sorry. I have just seen them at the airport. I have read on here from other very knowledgeable posters that it is very easy to use. If you are flying in to SNA you just walk up to the desk that is set up just outside the airport. From what I have been told you can't miss it. I would imagine that if you book it all in advance all you would have to do is "check in" and wait for the next bus if it is not already there. Also, it has been mentioned that they drop off at the Disney Hotels first and then the others and that it is not necessarily right at the door of your hotel . You may have to walk. I have heard that you need to bring your own luggage to the bus (I guess it is different at DW and also free if not mistaken) If you have children that use booster or car seats, then you don't need to bring them (the car seats, not the children) as there are no seat belts or any way of hooking them us.
If it would have been just DH, DD and myself for this trip we would have used the Express. But economically it makes more sense for us to use a taxi since there are so many of us going. When do you go? We go in November, and I will keep my eyes open for them at the airport at SNA and see how "easy" it is to get to etc.

Sorry that I can't be of more help. :sad2: I am sure someone who has had first hand experience can tell you a lot more.

Eeyore76... i just wanted to wish you a Happy Happy trip and have safe travel!:wizard:

I'm sorry I won't get to meet you, we changed our trip to December.:santa:

Have You thought about going on the Ladies Only Trip in March? It will be my first year going..they seem like such a good group. Think about going!:goodvibes

We have always taken a cab. About $40 one way. We don't have to wait for other people or stop at other hotels along the way. We want to get there asap!

Thanks for the info - that is just what I was wondering! That's good to know that they were reliable, too.

I do remember reading somewhere before that it is more expensive from LGB - weird, huh? I put all our airport/arrival info in their website for my quote, so I got an accurate price, but I appreciate you making sure I don't get any unexpected $ surprises! :scared:

This is what I can't make a final decision on...first, we were going to just catch a cab when we arrived. We've got two adults and two kids in the small backless booster seats, and I read that with one adult sitting up front, and the luggage in the trunk, we should fit just fine. THEN, I started thinking about booking Super Shuttle in advance, and my famous indecisiveness reared it's ugly head.

I know either way would probably be perfectly fine. I just need to make a decision and stick with it. I got a quote from Super Shuttle for $108 plus tip, so I think it may be a few dollars more than a cab, but pretty close.

Do you think we would have to wait a while for the shuttle to leave from LGB once we arrive? I was thinking that since it's a smaller airport, they might not wait around as long as at a larger airport looking for more passengers.

Sigh...just tell me to stop overthinking and make a decision, okay? :sad2:

Thanks for letting me go on, and on...and on. :lovestruc
