We are staying at the Hard Rock and plan to spend most of out time at Universal, but we would like to go to Disney for 1 day. We don't have a car, we are flying and then have transfers from the airport to the HRH. Does anyone know if there are any shuttles from Universal to Disney or will we have to take a cab? Thanks

You can take a cab or hire a driver at the HRH. However, there are minimums with the driver and it will be more cost effective if you take a cab instead of the driver.

You may find others going to disney and u could share the cost of cab etc:jester:

Check with www.mearstransportation.com They have vans that go from park to park. Depending on the size of your group it can be cheaper or more than the price of a taxi since you have to pay per person.

You might even consider renting a car for the day.

We just got back from our stay at the HRH and during the stay we decided to go to Epcot for a day. We used Mears and it was $28 round trip. The concerge has a pamphlate with all of Mears pick up and drop off times at the HRH. All you have to do is call Mears 90 minutes ahead of the pickup time you want (7, 8, 9, 10, 11 am) and meet them at the bus loop. Then to get back, all you need to do is call them 90 minutes ahead of time. They now have a whole set of times listed in which they will pick you up at.

Yes, it averages out to about $28 per person, unless you have 4 people. What it comes down to is that they want $60 for the ride. And that's only a round trip for a resort.

It's much better to rent your own car. That way you can go out for dinner, travel between the resorts, and explore I-drive, and visit Sea World of Florida (SWF).

If you we're only going to travel between resorts ONE time, and not go anywhere else, then the shuttle service is the best deal. But why do that if you're staying a few days? Travel around, visit SWF, BGT, I-Drive, grocery stores, Arabian Nights.
