Does anyone have info on the best way to get to Disney Beach Club Villas from Sanford airport (Flying SE airlines)? I don't think we'll need a car staying there. THANKS!

I would strongly suggest renting a car. You are talking close to 55 miles between Sanford Airport and the Beach Club. Taxicab rates are $3.25 for the first mile and then $1.75 per mile thereafter, for a total of about $100 each way (plus tips).

This way if you want to go to the Studios or Animal Kingdom, or one of the other (non-Epcot) resorts or off-site you will have the car available. Depending on the size car, and your length of stay, it might even be less expensive than taxicabs even if it just sits in the parking lot for a few days.

Taking the main exit of Airport Blvd, it will get you on the Greeneway (SR 417) at Exit 50. Head South and go all the way to Exit 6 (marked International Drive). Do not turn onto I-Drive itself at the traffic light, but go straight onto SR-536, World Center Drive. Pass the Marriott and when you cross I-4 you will be on Epcot Center Drive. Take the second exit (marked Epcot Resorts) onto Buena Vista Drive. The follow the signs to the Beach Club.

we fly out to Sanford and rent from Dollar all the time $129.99 for May, but my neice and nephew use a shuttle named COACH USA ...it's only $40.00 each R/T And that's fine for them, then they use Disney busses..you can go on to their website it's WWWCOACHUSA.COM and pick Sanford....FYI

I'd rent a small compact....cheap and easier to get around esp if you like to go to other hotels on the property to dine....the busses were horrible when we were there in March.....lots of long waits.....Then we took interstate 4 with no problem to the hotels.
Renting is the way to go

Could you report on how your flight with SE airlines goes? We usually fly Delta Express but I'm interested in trying SE next time I fly. Even if you just want to PM me when you get back that would be ok as well. Have a great trip!

We aren't going until November, but the flights from Columbus, OH to Orlando are just $138 RT, non-stop! It's hard to beat that!! I guess it's 55 miles from the airport to Disney. Not sure how many miles it is form the Orlando airport to Disney, but I think the price of the tickets make up for the extra miles.

I'll be sure to report how it all goes whne we return.

Keep the suggestions coming!

We're going to rent a car one-way from SFB to the Swan/Dolphin. Alamo and National service to the Swan/Dolphin. We'll pick it up when we arrive in the morning and we'll drop it off that day. On our last day, we'll rent again from S/D and drop off at SFB. It'll be under $100 R/T for a compact car. We're staying at the BWV, so it isn't inconvenient at all for us to drop it off next door.

Interesting! Do I call Allamo or National to make the arrangements or do I have to call Swan and Dophin too?

Any problem returning a car early AM to the airport?

We do the same thing RUDisney!
Works great for us and can't beat the cost. Last time we did it, it wound up costing around $80 for the round trip. Not bad at all considering what a town car/van or taxi would have cost us. We also save tons of $$ flying into SFB that it's a no brainer for us

Thanks! I just called National and with the Entertainment Book free day, it works out to $40 each way!

NEXT QUESTION......how far is The Swan and Dolphin from the Beach Club Villas? Is this an easy walk after returning the car/and to get the car for the trip to the airport?
:earsgirl:

It's not a far walk at all. Just around the lake, maybe take you 10 min or so.

I have flown SE before into Sanford and stayed at the Mariott Grande Vista Resort.

It is a nice little drive for the amount that we saved.

We rented our car off site of the airport from Specialty van and car rental. The guys name there is Joe..... he is AWESOME. When our flight got bumped from 8am to 10PM he still came out on his OWN time to pick us up and complete our transaction. He just went above and beyond anything we'd have ever e xpe cted and I'd recommend you try him. i know the company isn't HUGE but they really give you decent rates. We are paying $200 for a dodge stratus ---unlimited milage for the week of the 4th of July. . . I don't think that's bad...... I'd give them a call..

Their number is 407-322-0250 and they are located at 4185 S Orlando Drive
Sanford, Fl 32773

You can tell them Melissa and Charles from PA sent you.

(by the way, I get nothing in return for this. We were just THAT happy with the service and we're renting from them again this year)
Feel free to pm me with any more questions if I can help.

We used SE into Sanford last October and had absolutely no problems at all. To me, the $$ saved and convenience of a direct flight was well worth the extra travel time from SFB to the resort.
