Getting to Clearwater Beach

What would be the closest airport to Clearwater? Thinking of going there first and then to WDW. Do not drive so would also have to find a bus company from Clearwater to WDW. Anyone Know?

We flew into Tampa then drove to WDW and on the way back we had time to spare so we drove to Clearwater which was not far at all (actually we kept getting turned around and ended up in Clearwater more times than we wanted ). I think it's 16 miles from TPA to Clearwater.

Well there is also the St. Petersburg - Clearwater International Airport, although it's a lot smaller and not all Airlines fly into there.

If you do not drive, it can be difficult to combine a Gulf coast trip with a WDW trip. I believe Greyhound buses go back and forth between St. Petersburg or Tampa to Orlando, but that would be pretty much it. A taxi would cost you a fortune!

You might want to reconsider going to the Atlantic side. I see a lot of shuttles going back and forth between the Orlando International Airport and the Cocoa Beach area, so there would be alternative transportation available. You could get transportation to and from the airport to the beach, and transportation to and from the airport to Disney as well.

As much as I prefer the Gulf beaches to the Atlantic beaches, it's really better to have a car to go back and forth between Orlando and the Gulf.

I know it has been a few days but thank you all so much! Actually may have to skip WDW altogether with the way things are looking but I really could use the beach for a few days!

Tampa is about an hour from BVL where I live and my daughter and I go to the concerts there.
I find it is quick to get there and a lot of places to where you can have the car right next to the beach which is a godsend when you have a 2 and a half year old grandson. Hope you can sort out a break Julie from Kissimmee
