Getting to Boardwalk from POP

We'd like to go check it out (not really the hotel, but "the boardwalk").
The first day we're eating at Ohana for breakfast and eventually would like to make it over to check out "the boardwalk". Last time we were there, we went from Epcot on an afternoon break from the park. This time, we won't be doing a park that day, so that's not possible, correct? I think the boat goes from the entrance by WS. Easiest, quickest way to get there from either POP or the monorail resorts?

From Poly, take the boat or monorail to MK and hop on a Boardwalk bus. To get back to POP from Boardwalk, walk or boat to DHS and catch a POP bus.

From pop take a dhs bus, walk down the sidwlwalk to canal and it takes you right there. Its a short nice walk, or the boat dock is there and that is an option but a little slower

Agreed with PP above - take the bus to HS from either Pop or the monorail resorts and walk/boat over to the Boardwalk.

We like getting off the boat at Swan and Dolphin. That way you start on 1 side of the boardwalk instead of the middle

if you're going from a park, pick up the Boardwalk bus. If you're leaving from a resort take DHS bus! As first answer says, from Poly it's easy to hop on monorail to MK to pick up Boardwalk bus. If you want a pleasant boat ride to MK, we love taking the boat over.

Just keep in mind that there probably won't be a lot going on at the BoardWalk until the evening.

If you want to save about a hour take a taxi POP is 5 minutes from the BW should cost about $10

This. I took a cab from Pop to Beach Club once for the purpose of eating at Beaches and Cream before a night at the Studios, and the pre-tip cab amount was $6. I was so stunned at how cheap it was that the number has been etched into my memory! The $10 or so that cab ride cost saved us probably 45 minutes and a lot of walking in the heat.
