Hi all - this is my first post of many I expect! :)

We have booked to go to Port Orleans Riverside in July and can't wait. Turns out friends of ours are booked for Florida at the same time and we have arranged to meet for breakfast at the Grand Floridian at 8.30 am - so excited :thumbsup2 But ... I have just realised that since we don't have a hire car it might not be that easy to get from POR to GF at this time of day. Any experiences of this type of thing? Will we need to get a taxi? If so is this easy enough and what sort of cost would we be looking at?

You could take a taxi, or you could take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and then ride the monorail to the GF. The monorail ride is fun.

:welcome: to the DIS boards!!!!
You shouldn't have any trouble getting to breakfast that early. There are buses running from the resorts to the parks for those with early breakfast ADRs. So....here's what to do. Get out to your bus stop by 7:30, hop on the MK bus. When you get to the MK, head up to the resort monorail and ride it to the GF. You will stop at the Contemporary, the TTC (I think it stops there that early), the Polynesian, and then your stop, the GF.
Or....head to the boat dock. You can take the GF/Polynesian shuttle boat. It should stop at the GF first. The boats are usually faster if the boat is either there or coming in. If you see the boat pulling away, then it will be faster to just take the monorail.

Cool! :thumbsup2

Thanks guys!! I was thinking last night I might be able to get to Magic Kingdom and then out again!! Woo hoo!! How exciting!!

When we went in August we had 2 early ADR's one at Ohana's and one at Crystal Palace and the busses started around 6:30 A.M.. We had no problem getting to our early breakfasts.
