We are heading down to Florida on Wednesday to Disney, going to stop in St. Augustine for a couple of days. So my question is for anyone who has traveled through or living in Nashville; will we have trouble getting through? We usually drive through downtown or go around passed Opryland hotel, are the roads passable?

You shouldn't have any problems as long as you are on the major roadways. Briley Parkway (which is the road that runs by the Opryland Hotel) finally reopened toward the end of last week and all the interstates through the city are now fine. Have a great trip.

Never had a problem with Nashville...but ATLANTA is a freekin nightmare every single time we drive through there. If you can, plan to hit Atlanta around the wee hours of the morning!

As Grumpysgal said, as long as you stay on the interstate and main roads you should be fine. The Opryland (Opry Mills) exits are closed, but there isn't anything to do there now since everything is closed. I can recommend to you that if you want a break/lunch to stop in Murfreesboro. There are several good exits that have great food and clean restrooms. Enjoy your trip!:flower3:

We are *very* close to each other! ;) ........Steak and Shake is the BEST! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the replies. I am going to miss stopping at the OpryMall, it was one of my favorites. Yes we time it so we do not go through Atlanta during rush hours :scared1:

Yes, OpryMills Mall will be closed for the next few months to repair the damage. As the previous person said, Briley and most major roads are open now.

We use to live off of Hwy 96 in Murfreesboro. I too recommend it as a good place to stop and grab a bite. If you are adventurous, ask for directions (or GPS) Demos Restaurant (Family owned Steak and Spaghetti House). It is only one turn of the road that meets the interstate. Well worth the extra 5 minute drive.
