Getting things laminated

I am making our own special luggage tags and I'd like to get them laminated. I want them to be laminated so they're hard and stiff, won't bend.
Will any office supply store do this? How about a copy center?

What a great idea!
I have gone to Kinko's to get things laminated before. At some stores like Target, have laminating sheets too. Just put a piece of cardboard in between the sheets of paper (one piece with the person's info, the other with a design on it) then it should not bend. Good luck!

I bought a laminator at a craft store a couple of years ago and it's great. My family makes fun of me because I laminate everything! I can't remember how much it cost but it wasn't too much. You may want to consider that option.

I had my carpool number laminated at Office Depot. It's three years old and still going strong!!!!!

There are specially made laminating tags available at your UPS or other similar store. They will generally hold a 2x3" piece of card stock. These are heavier than most laminating pockets and tend to last a little longer. They also have the buckle strap that attaches to the card.

Be careful with a colored logo or photo as the heat from the laminating machine will destroy it.

I have a small laminating machine (it cost $17 after that 40% off coupon at Michael's), but it's hard to find laminating pockets that are a heavy gauge plastic. Office Depot carries them, but you have to buy a large package and they are horribly expensive. If you're only planning to do it once, I'd go and have it done.

The elementary school's library (DS's former school) has a laminating machine which they run on Tues and Fri; it was one of my "chores" as a parent helper, so I did all of my laminating there. As long as the librarian and assistant are there, they'll do it for me.

I would think that the school machine is for school projects, not personal projects.
