Getting "Slimed" at Nickelodeon

My sons wanted to try to get slimed last time we visited USF, but I was afraid we'd either have to go back to the resort to get changed or walk around the park sticky and smelly for the rest of the day.

How does that work out? I know they wipe the slime off the kids faces with a towel immediately but what happens afterwards? Can they actually get a chance to get cleaned out and wash their hair anywhere? I know they wear a cape but do they just send them out without washing up with soap and water afterwards?

Thanks!

First you have to be lucky enough to be picked. When I went there was only one child picked per show. We've tried three times and all three times my son was a part of the show but not the "slimee"... :(

I would like to know if they do allow them to clean up further, that stuff looks sticky! I see they give them another tee and use the apron but I'd want a shower after that! :teeth:

When Malarie was "pied and slimed" on Slime Time Live, we were only given a towel to get that icky stuff off her face and out of her hair.

I couldn't believe they didn't have a wash area for them! We had to head over to a regular park restroom and use the sink to rinse is out.

Oh well, I guess the being on national tv and getting a year's supply of AirHeads candy was cool.

Rhonda!

I didn't know Malarie was picked! How Kewlllll! :bounce:

Not kewl about the clean up, though! :p

Last week we encountered 2 kids that had been freshly slimed! The parents were hurrying them back to the resort to clean up. It was in their hair and ALL over their clothes. The kids thought is was the BEST! The mom said to me...this stuff is never gonna come out! lol

YUK... I guess I still will restrain my kids from raising their hands next time!

It sounds fun to them but a drag to go back to the resort and waste vacation time to clean up. Gee, I really thought they'd provide showers or something besides a dry towel...

Boy, things must have changed.

My DS was slimed and they had me take him back stage to a room that had 2 small shower stalls. He took a shower and washed his hair - under protest I might add! That was the first question I asked when he was chosen...........

I know the kids love it and where "it" proudly. I guess I would have let him be "slimed" and do the same thing - run back to the resort to shower.

My son was picked to be slimed a couple years ago. They took him back somewhere & had him change out of the clothes he wore to the park & gave him a plastic sweatsuit sort of thing to wear. Afterwards, he was taken to an area & allowed to shower then put back on the clothes he wore to the park. I didn't see the area where he changed or showered because my hubby went with him. I thought it was great because I was concerned about getting that stuff off him and his clothes. We were there during the off season & it was inside the studio building. We have been there during a busier time when the stands were set up outside & it seemed there were more shows. Wonder if that makes any difference.....I don't think we would have agreed if there wasn't the adequate clean-up opportunity.

The same happened to my daughter, she was picked to be slimed on the Nick Tour and was given an outfit to change in to. After the big event, she showered, but her hair & ears were still green.....Needless to say, she doesn't want to be slimed again. She said the slime was warm and tasted terrible.......

I got slimed once, many years ago. They had me put on some red suit and after getting slimed, I also went to a back area and was able to rinse my hair out and wash my face and arms.

My youngest DS was a slime victim at Game Lab in January. As
mentioned already, after he was selected, I went with him into a little room in the back. They told him to take everything off
(including underwear) and get into this red warm up suit. After
the deed was done, he went back to the room where there is
a big shower (like a handicapped shower) so you can stand there
and spray your child without getting soaked yourself. Shampoo
and soap are provided and loads of towels. After he was all
cleaned up, he just got dressed again, so he was all clean and
dry.

I'm wondering if the kids that are slimed on Slime Time Live
outside might not have the same shower option as inside at
Game Lab?

(copied from another post)

If you want to be slimed, you should wash your hair that morning before going to the park.

Although the slime itself is not hazardous or filthy, it will pick up impurities and germs from hair and skin. (So will rain, thus the saying that you catch cold from going out in the rain without a hat.)

I thought I was told some years ago on a backstage tour that slime was edible, but a not so pleasant taste may have been added recently to encourage people to wipe it off rather than lap it off.
