Getting seated for ADR without primary reservation contact

Has anyone ever been seated for an ADR that their name is on, but that they aren't the primary reservation holder for?

We have overlapping reservations for Be Our Guest, one under my name and one under my MIL's name. Well, now my MIL is no longer coming to the park that day, but the rest of her party is. I called the Disney dining reservations line (on hold for 2 1/2 hours!) and they told me that she doesn't need to be there as long as a guest listed on the reservation is there to check in. Can anyone confirm that this is true?

The dining CM went on to add my SIL and her family to the reservation to make sure they are on it, but I just looked and it's not their MDE accounts...just the generic Mickey avatar with their first name and initial for last name (and one is spelled wrong). Not sure this will be enough...

I really don't want to have a problem getting in day-of. TIA for your thoughts!!!!

In 30+ years I have never seen any Disney restaurant ask for ID. As long as you know the name of the person the reservation is under, you’re fine.

cant say for sure now but precovid just have one of second group be your MIL and give her name and tell them one less. they should be fine. I have never been asked for ID at check in and we have done this when one did not come

If you want extra safety get a screen cap of her MDE screen and save it on your phone, you can always show it

The ressies are always under my husband, we never change the name and I check in and get seated all the time without him there!
