Getting rooms together

Thank you. What all does linking involve? What all does this mean? Thanks!

You can either call but you need both your reservation number and theirs or you can do it online but I can't remember if we did it when we booked or when we did online check in.

Hi Michelle...we've gone on trips with extended family 5 times now. We've pretty much had all our rooms together with the exception of 2 trips, and even then we were in same building just maybe few rooms away. Rooms booked directly by each party either on their own or thru our TA.
Disney reservation system can set up a "travel with number" or "travel plan number" upon request and each person who reserves needs to request their individual resort reservation number be listed under the travel plan number. This will hopefully increase your chances of being placed closed together. The travel plan number can also accommodates notes for requests such as a specific resort location-just remember its only a request, but I believe room assignors will try their best to honor them . Good luck!

But have you booked a combo of both suites and rooms? That is what the OP wants and what is going to cause problems.

How do you get the travel plan number? Do I call and request that? Thanks for this advice!

I realize I wasn't clear. We have one larger family and in some accomodations, they are forced to get a suite, hence All Star Music. However, by upgrading to a moderate, they can get a room with 2 queens and a pull down child bed which then fits them and won't need a suite. So, my research so far says we either have to do Music with 2 regular rooms and 1 suite OR a moderate like Carribean or POR with 3 regular rooms. Sorry I wasn't clear. I didn't think that out when I typed it. I think we will just put in a request. If anyone knows these 3 particular hotels to be difficult to make this happen, please let me know. Thanks!!

As I stated the Music will be the most challenging.

I would make rooms near each other you only request too, to up the odds of getting them. If you can afford it, go with preferred rooms at POR. All the preferred rooms will have the pull down beds, so you won't end up with some rooms in one section and some rooms in another. At CBR the pull downs are scattered throughout the resort. At POR they are all in the Alligator Bayou section. So you have a better chance of being close at POR.

I agree that it looks like POR should work for you to get three rooms that are at least reasonably close together. The other option that comes to mind, and I know it's not cheap, is to get a treehouse at Saratoga Springs, and split the cost among all households. There would be space for everyone, as I think they hold up to twelve people. But you'd need to check pricing and see if one treehouse is price-comparable with three POR rooms.

Our TA has always set up the "travel with" number for us, however I understand you can request one when you book. You should have everyone's individual resort reservation numbers (once made) and have them all noted. They can be added on later if resort reservations are not all made at the same time.

Update - We have decided to stay at CBR. I will request the travel plan number and put traveling together in the notes. Does anyone think this will affect which building we will be in? We are going to book standard view rooms ( have no idea which buildings these are).
Also, one in party has a special diet and will bring some of her own food. She wants to be able to use the microwave in the food court. Will this be a burden? If we end up in the building furthest away from the food court, how much of a walk is it?
Thanks, again!!!

From the furthest building, it's 10-15 minute walk, I think. We were in a room in Aruba and it was close to 10 minutes walk. The size of the resort is what I disliked most about it.
