Getting rid of Toon Town?

I just heard they are getting rid of toon town! Is this true?

No. That rumor has been cycling around since before Star Wars was announced and just never died. FWIW I read they just did a nice job touching up the paint there and fixing some of the area's long broken gags.

The rumors were that Star Wars might take it's place but we now know that SW Land is going to the west of Toon Town behind Big Thunder Mountain. I think Toon Town is safe for a while now.

Are there issues with Toon Town, especially limited operating hours and only one main attraction. Of course.

Is it on the "possibility" list for changes/improvements? More than likely yes, with Disney promising the city of Anaheim to spend $1 Billion on new infrastructure.

Is anything official in the works, no.

It really depends on how far into the rumor mill you go. Officially, no, Toontown is safe, at least from a SWL take-over. In fact, even other rumored expansions are expected to, if anything, only decrease the size, but not get rid of the Toontown area. But, the rumored expansions are still in development and not official, so who knows what could change in a handful of years?

I've heard several times lately that Toon Town is toast. Disney plans on doing a Fantasy Land expansion. Disney snatched away my much loved Tower of Terror so I'd say anything is possible.
