Getting rid of silver marks in white sink?

I use baking soda on a wet paper towel. I also use a cleaner made by Pfaltzgraff for getting marks their dishes. They both work great for the marks you describe.

Sometimes I will just call or email the manufacturer and they can offer me advice since they know their product well.
