I read on another thread that Disney is going to be getting rid of their P&F attraction. My son was really, really looking forward to seeing his favorite cartoon characters during our visit in July. Anyone know when Disney is giving them the axe at the park? Will we still be able to see them?

Maybe post on rumor board? I was hoping for my DS' s and DD to see them too!

I would not be surprised. Every time Josh does a DHS update, he points out that there is very few people in line to see them. Compound that with the rumors that they are no longer creating new episodes and I could see the move away from that M&G.

This is different from our experience last summer. Our wait to see Phineas & Ferb was the longest wait we had including rides. We are very sad about no new episodes. It is really the only thing on the Disney channel that my 8 year old DS watches. :sad1:

ditto! We love Phineas and Ferb (the shows and meeting the characters). I really hope they don't disappear!!

Is this really true?! I hope that phineas and ferb will be there for our trip in early june! They are one of my kiddos favorite meet and greets! And they are my husbands very favorite! They always interact so well with my kids and family that help add to the memories and magic of our I disney trips!

Disney Channel stops making P and F episodes, but keep making steaming piles of crap like "Dog With A Blog"? What is that all about?!?

Seriously.

I really hope they keep P+F in the parks for a while. My son would love to meet them again when we return this fall!

Following as we are just getting into those two in our house. My son will FLIP if he gets to meet them. (He won't know the difference either way if he doesn't but I know he would love it.)

Don't all Disney Channel shows only have like a 4 year life span or something like that? People wanted more Kim Possible when that was still on, but Disney ended it after the certain number of years as all their shows (unless they aren't popular).

DD who was a Photopass Photographer for P&F during her college program last year is going to be crushed if this true :(

Count us as another family that would be disappointed if P&F go away before we visit in the fall.

Reason for some hope though - I've read that there were 40 episodes developed for the season and have only aired 20 so far. There is also reportedly a planned P&F/Star Wars episode planned for the summer. For what it's worth (I have no idea if it's accurate or not), IMDB also shows a Valentine's Day episode scheduled for 2015.

That makes sense for the live action shows as the kids start quickly outgrowing their roles, so to speak. Not so for animated shows. That's the beauty of animated shows...after all, 'The Simpsons' kids has been the same age for 25 years!

I agree though with the other pp about some of their shows. Those 'Dog With a Blog' and 'A.N.T. Farm' shows are absolutely dreadful. Some of the others aren't as bad, but the only one of any quality the last several years was probably 'Good Luck Charlie'.

As for the OP, we were at DHS last Thursday. While the line for P & F wasn't what it was 2 years ago, it's not like it was empty. So they may not be removing them just yet. Can I see it happening within a year? I suppose, but it's probably not iminent. It's not like there's a lot they can do with the space (maybe some type of Muppets meet & greet?).

Generally, In shows with human kids, the kids start looking too old for their roles in 4 years.

Cartoons don't have that problem.

I'm not sure why all P&F production was shifted from episodes to occasional "specials/movies"

If this is true (which BTW I hope it is not...our whole family loves that show and we had the best M&G with them on our last trip), I wonder how long they will keep the Agent P missions going in Epcot. If they ever got rid of that, my kids and DH would be crushed, and so would I because then I would have to hear their nagging because I was taking too long in a shop :(.

I hope not. Those are the only characters I had thought of something to say to for our Sept trip.

We went during March Break (crowd level 9 day). During mid-day, there is no one in line for P&F. I am not surprised if Disney change them into some other popular characters.
