I'd love to hear your review of Flamingo's Donuts. I LOVE donuts and we tried to go there, but it closes early. Is it crowded in the AM?
Let me know what you have.
dunno. you might need to check at a marina / fishing wharf type place...probably they would know.
(PS) For good eats I would recommend Truffles Cafe, Roastfish & Cornbread and One Hot Mama's. Truffles is dressy casual & was reallllly good...One Hot Mama's is BBQ and VERY casual....Roastfish & Cornbread falls inbetween (low country style cooking - we tried alligator)! We ate outside on picnic tables at Roastfish & it was pretty laid back & casual. I would avoid the Mexican place across the harbor from DVC - that was by far the biggest disappointment we had all week...
Yes, I'd just dry them in the sun. These starfish are pretty small and will dry easily without a lot of odor - no need to prepare them otherwise. You won't find a lot of them washed up though. We've found a few (mostly broken) sand dollars, a lot of horseshoe crabs (some about 10" long), but never a starfish washed up. We have found lots of them at low tide out in the ocean - in fact, at low tide, it's tough not to step on starfish/sand dollars in water about 5' of depth.
I'd definitely try Harold's over the HH Diner. Harold is a character though, so be prepared.
Here now at the resort!! Ocean is very warm, saw jelly fish on the beach but not many in the water. Had to get out yesterday for 1/2 hour due to shark in the water resort is beautiful! Saw the diner but we didn't eat there. We ate at the bonefish grill earle of sandwhich and the smokehouse going to flamingos donut today
Love this place, very relaxing....
The local news said that Jellyfish were starting to be sighted here locally, but, I was at Tybee on Saturday (about 5 miles south of the resort beach house, and didn't see any.
I do understand that the non-stinging 'cannonball' jellys are running, and are freqently seen on the beach. It's usually (rule of thumb) late July or August before we see the stinngers around here. If you are really worried, keep some vinager handy to wash the stung area. Hot water is said to help too.

Earle of sandwich is a pub not to be confused with the Dtd one. It was in the coligny circle area, good food reasonably priced. It is a small small place.
The flamingos donut was really good, fresh made glazed donuts with all types of toppings. There is 6 of us we had, jelly, glazed, banana cream, s'mores, chocolate with toasted coconut, Boston cream, Carmel apple, peach cobbler and sticky bun! They are not all that big so it may seem like we ate a lot of them it was good, it was really hard to find, tucked away in a strip mall. We used our gps, if you pick up a where to go magazine there is a coupon in there buy 3 get one free. Yummy!
We went to harbor town today to the light house ( in sea pines) went into some shops and ate at the salty dog cafe. Have not had a bad meal yet!
