Getting nervous about upcoming trip

I'm getting nervous about my upcoming trip. Myself, my partner, a friend of ours (all in our 40s) are taking my nephew (17 yo) to WDW for 4 days this weekend. This is a Christmas/birthday present before he graduates. His first trip since he was 6. Staying in 2BR at BWV. I did my research and got all booked for FP+ rides, DME, reservations at Boma, Ohana and Biergarten. I guess I'm worried that he's going to get bored being around us, although we all ride coasters and "big" rides. Our friend has a couple kids in their 20s, so she's more used to being around young adults than us. What can he do at night for a few hours if he wants.....something that I won't have to worry about getting into trouble. He's a good, well behaved kid, but I guess I'm not used to being responsible for a "minor". I think this is what's freaking me out.

Well Disney Quest comes to mind right away. Also a movie at DTD could do.

Since you are staying at bwv he could just walk over to Hollywood studios or epcot and reride some headliners on his own. I would think he would be fine exploring any of the parks on his own, I know I was of on my own by age 14 at Disney. Just check with his parents first if they are not going to see how they would feel about that.

Plus I also kind of think a 17 year old on his own is far less likely to get into mischief than a pair of teenagers off galavanting together.

Another thing he would love is to rent a small boat at BLT and ride bay lake.

At 17 don't think of him as a minor and you'll probably do just fine. Think of him as "one of the boys" Let him in on your jokes, treat him like a grownup. That is what he craves most right now.

My fourteen year old daughter has been playing board games with my husband's friends since she was ten. They treat her as one of the guys and she does fine. She doesn't drink though And some of the jokes go over her head.

My DS 16 likes to go on his own and play the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom game. He will spend days playing that game. I tend to hang out watch the parades and shows while he plays. We set an approximate meeting time and place, where there is something to do (like shop)while I wait, in case he is running late involved in the game.

I sincerely thank everyone for your suggestions. I'm feeling much more at ease with your ideas! I never heard of the Sorcerers game, which sounds like fun myself . I completely forgot about the boats and Disney Quest. This should be plenty to keep us all very well entertained for our trip. I'll post a report afterwards to let you all know how things went. We leave on Saturday.... leaving the cold/snow of MN and WI behind
