Hi Everyone! :goodvibes

Does anyone know when you are supposed to receive the info and tags from Magical express, We leave in 8 days! Next wednesday to be exact and I have nothing here. I KNow I know, I'm just a worry wart at this point, but I'm trying to get everything ready and really worried about this! :hourglass

Thanks a bunch for being here so I can ask away!

I would definitely give them a call -- I received my ME pkg. on 7/7 for our trip beginning 8/16.

Call them and ask. We're leaving for our trip 8/23 and I received our ME packet about two or three weeks ago.

I would call now. We have had a bear of a time this time with the Magical Express so I would call them. We called Disney twice to update our Magical Express and neither time did they do it correctly. I finally called the Magical Express number to get it straightened out.

Did you book through a TA? If so call the TA. The tags get sent to your TA and some of them aren't very good about forwarding the tags to their clients.

Im in the same boat - leave Aug 22, no tags. I emailed my TA who said nothing showed up there but if it does, she woulr forward to me. I am calling Disney tonight if there is nothing in the mail box when i get home.

My AAA told me the DME packages don't have the customers or even the individual travel agents name on the envelope. Some has to open the envelope, match the name with reservation information then mail it.

I received my ME packet last week for our trip Sept.2-14. The first package that came had the correct flight departure info but no info for flight arrival and DH's name was spelled wrong, also the yellow tags had the wrong date on them. I called ME and they assured me that a new updated package was in the mail. I received it two days later with the correct spelling of DH's name and the correct date on the yellow tags, however this one has the correct info for flight arrival but no departure info. Hopefully if I take both packages with me, they'll figure it out.

So, I got inpatient and called Disney myself - my packet was mailed July 12 to the TA. So now I am contacting them to see where it is.

UGHHH. quick panic here... I've tried calling the TA and no response at all. I'm at a loss at this point.. any ideas?

This year has been a real horror, and this is just adding to it! We lost our business this June due to the flooding in our area, and I really can't deal with much more! I need Disney more than ever... just hope I can get there next Wednesday!

If anyone has any ideas,,, feel free to let me know! :cool1:

Thanks a million!

robin09,
I'm in the same boat as you! I called DME and my tags were mailed out to the TA at the beginning of the month. Now, it's too late for DME to send new ones. So, the CM told me to go to the Disney Welcome Center after we arrive. They will take my baggage claim tickets and retreive my bags for DME and they will give us our vouchers for the bus there.

The good news is that we are definitely in their system and they are expecting us on DME. I hope this works out as easily as my CM made it sound. They must have this happen a lot, so I'm sure that they know what to do.

Having your luggage tags and the rest of the DME booklet is nice, but not necessary. As explained above, DME has a system in place for just such a circumstance, so please do yourself a favor and stop stressing over it.

By the way, I'm not talking from the cheap seats here, I know what I'm talking about -- I received by DME bookelt about 15 HOURS before I left for WDW (we were leaving at 5 a.m. the next day). My clueless TA snail-mailed the packet to me, from her office 150 miles from my home, TWO DAYS before I left. There was only a 50/50 chance I'd receive the mailing in one day, and I got lucky.

We were fully prepared to do without. About one hour before the mail came (on the day before I left), I called DME and learned the established procedure for using the full-force of DME without the tags/packet, and we were satisfied that DME had our backs.

Just curious, those who have problems with TAs not mailing the tags, can you PM me an dlet me know the TA you are using, just to compare notes. i dont want to turn th thread into trashing TAs but wonder if we may be in the same boat.

Does anyone have the number to DME so I can get in touch.. thanks again. You can't imagine how I love having all of you around! :cool1:

I think that it's the TA's who do not specialize in WDW travel that most are having an issue with. They don't seem to fully understand all the stuff that is Disney related.
I wouldn't worry too much if you don't get those yellow tags. You might want to put some really unique ribbons on your bags, so that they are really noticable. Have a description of all the checked bags so that you can give it to the baggage people at DME. Then they will pull the bags for you. If you are really nervous about checking the bags without the yellow tags, then just head to baggage claim when you get to MCO. You can grab your bags, then head to the DME Welcome desk. You can have the bags stowed underneath the same bus you are on. At least you'll have your bags with you...you won't have to wait a few hours for you bags to get to your room!

OK, one week to go, thanks to all of you I've called Magical Express.... They have no record of me. So I call Disney themselves, they can't help I have to go thru my agent... My travel agent hasn't returned calls in 3 days (only once a day I promise I'm not harassing)... I have no idea what to do, I'm frustrated as can be.

Any ideas? :furious:

I always got my tags at least two weeks in advance. I'd be nervous too. Hope it works out for you :)

Robin, here is the information directly from the ME website:

In the event that you do not receive your Disney's Magical Express booklet with luggage tags, here's what you will do upon arrival into Orlando. Take the airport tram to the main Terminal and proceed directly to the Disney Welcome Center which is located on the A side of the airport on Level 1 (Ground Transportation). If you arrive on the B side, please proceed to the A side before taking the escalator or elevator down to level 1.

There will be Disney representatives located on Level 2 on both the A and B sides of the airport to assist you with directions to the Disney Welcome Center. At the Welcome Center, you will receive all the necessary information for your transportation.

Hope it helps to ease your mind, and I hope you have a great trip!

You're right to be furious!!! Can you call DME back and book yourself? I know that if you book with a TA it can be hard to do this stuff on your own. But, if the TA is unwilling to get it done for you, then you have no recourse. Call the TA back, if she/he doesn't speak to you, ask to speak to a manager. This is your vacation, you have paid for a service, you are entitled to this!!!
