i live in the U.K. And it will take around 2 months for the welcome letter with my member number to arrive!

I want to book a stay for June but obviously can't without this, does anyone know if member services will give me my member number and activation code on the phone? If so which option shall I choose?!

dial 1-800-800-9800 -- option 1. Keep hitting 0 until you get a person. Then let them know that you need your club ID and activation code. It doesn't always work, but it might work for you. Just make sure you have the contract number from the recorded ROFR.

In order to get that, go to the OCC website and search for your contract. Put in Disney as the Grantor and your last name as the grantee.

Unless things have changed, DVC likes to use your social security number for security. Being from the UK I don't know what you can do except find a CM with a heart.

How long do you typically need to wait before they would have the member ID in their system? We recently closed as well and eagerly awaiting our packet.

Thank you both! I did try this last night and was just told we need your membership number but I will keep trying again!
Don't use option 1; use option 3. Member Accounting is consistently the only team that will give you your member ID. Tell them you're trying to book a trip and you need your ID. They're your best chance.

How many times did you have to call to get your number?

I haven't called yet, I'm one week past the recording of our deed. I will start calling mid next week. Hopefully I get the Memberid after the first few calls.

Regards

I used option one two times and they were both willing to give it to me but we weren't in the system yet.

I have tried option 1 twice and both times they have said they can't give it to me :( what did you say to get them to say yes?!

I just said I didn't have my member ID and could they look it up for me. They asked for name and zip code and then said I wasn't in the system. Once you get the member ID then I think they more easily give out the club ID and activation code. That's step two....trying to get past step one first. Good luck!

I think the folks in Member Services (option 1) will use "not in the system yet" as an excuse. They aren't suppose to release that information over the phone.

Well I just got it!
I rang up and the lady was polite and so helpful I was really impressed. She even stayed on the phone whilst I was activating my account. I am so happy :)

Good for you! Have fun booking that first trip!

Darn! Any idea what the reasoning behind that is?

OP I'm so glad you got I!!! How long ago did your deed get recorded? Did you end up choosing option 1 or 3?

Call your bank and ask them to give you your credit card number over the phone. We're talking about an asset worth tens of thousands of dollars. They really need to follow security procedures. I'm under the impression that Member Accounting is the only department with access to enough information to verify your identity.

What info do you need to provide to membership administration for them to verify who you are? Since I'm also a foreigner I dont have a US SSN.
