Getting married.. question about shower

I definitely dont want to be tacky, so I know you guys can give me an objective answer.. Me and my fiancee live together and have for several years.. we are getting married next year... The question hasnt come up from my maid of honor, but if she wants to do a shower for me would it be tacky to allow someone to do a bridal or wedding shower for you when you already live together? I definitely dont want anyone to think badly of me for her doing it..

In Pa Showers are traditonally a surprise. If this is a first marriage you should go for it. If it's a second & everyone has done this for you before some may gripe but I still think you should do what makes you happy.

Thanks for the replies.. I have been married before but it was about 15 yrs ago that I was married the first time.. I know if I had a friend/family member in the same situation I would go to her shower.. I just didnt want anyone to think bad of me if one was given for me..

I don't understand people "thinking bad of you" because someone hosts a bridal shower in your honor. If they are that uncomfortable they can skip it! A wedding is something to be celebrated. Though you've lived together I am sure there are things you may need/want (heck, I've been married 6.5 years and I'd LOVE for someone to throw me a shower now!!!) to begin your married life together.

DH and I were living together for about 8 months before our 1990 wedding. I still had 3 showers (his side, my side, work). As far as I know, nobody thought it was tacky.

At the time, we were dirt poor and I was really hoping to get some nice, practical items on my registry. But, because we were already sharing a home, many people assumed we had what we needed. I ended up with 25 sexy nighties instead of a frying pans and coffee makers.

I laugh about it now, but at the time I was really .

My advice: prepare for a lot of lingerie; especially since it's your second marriage. It won't be tacky if your MOH throws you a shower.

I'd say have fun. If you need practical stuff, I'd let the host of the shower know.
If not, then maybe you could have a lingerie shower, or gag gifts.
