If there is anyone out there that is planning a wedding at the swan & dolphin please do get in touch i really need some help with the ceremony location & food plans etc, i will love ya all forever lol

Congratulations!

There is also a TR in the TR/PJ section feat a swan wedding, with loads of pics and info. I'll see if I can find the link.

Welcome!

I had my wedding at the Swan! If you have any questions, I will most certainly try to answer. Pinkerbell 1983 already posted a link to my wedding info, feel free to check it out ;)

Michelle is amazing! I really loved her. She answered all of my crazy questions and stayed sane when I changed my mind on stuff over and over again! LOL

Il Mulino is very close, no worries! It will be a super short walk over there. I don't know a whole lot about that restaurant because it wasn't open yet when I was planning my wedding, but it looks awesome. Have you contacted the manager there yet? I found that all of the managers I called at the Swan and Dolphin were very nice and helpful.

Let me know if I can help any!

thank you all for all the advice and help

i have been sent a list of menus to choose from in the different resturants but with tax etc on top its working out about $3500.00 which is a little on the pricy side or is that just me its for 28 people

also dont currently know which area we plan to be married in i wanted to ask ideas of where people think are best?

thanks all very much

I am getting married at the Swan in :lovestruc 5 days:lovestruc ! I will be back on the boards around the 26th. Feel free to email/pm me with any questions. Def. check out Jennifer's thread...she has been a HUGE help to me:) Congrats,:cheer2: and welcome. You have just signed on to a fabulous board with AMAZING, SUPPORTIVE, :grouphug: members!:yay:

Laura, you can definitely spend way less! I don't know the minimum for Il Mulino, so I can't say for sure that you could spend less there, but there are some other places that are much cheaper. :)

I mixed and matched things on the menus until I found a price that I could afford and would reach the minimum. I spent a little over $70 per person with tax and alcohol included (Somewhere around there anyways). it doesn't hurt to ask if they can make a menu that will meet your budget! I did, and they worked with me.

There is always the possibility of going to downtown Disney for your dinner. Fulton's and Portobello yacht club are options. I don't know much about them, but others on here have posted about them. The problem with having a reception there is that you would need transportation.

As far as which areas are the best, that depends! I am biased ;) , so I would say crescent Terrace. I think for the amount of guests you have it would work out the best for you. I think the east courtyard is tto small. The beach is nice, but it is not shaded, and they don't typically provide seatng.

Disney addict 1973- yay 5 days! How exciting! Have a great trip! Thanks for the compliments!

HI Laura,

I am a future Swan and Dolphin bride too. I am working with Michele:cool1: She is currently working on our initial contract and as of next week we will be officially booked:banana: We're getting married on May 4th, 2009 at Cresecent Terrace.

Right now, we are having a hard time deciding where to have our reception too. I contacted Il Mulino and they have great menu options, however my biggest dillema is that none of the Swan hotels offer wine in there alcohol packages. Wine is billed by consumption. I have an Irish family, the wine alone will be more than my entire wedding if we have to buy by consumption:rotfl:

I was also, looking at Fultons who dooffer wine but the problem there is in May Fultons will be going through renovations and same with Pleasure Island (The idea of having cranes and scaffolding walls in my wedding pictures isn't my idea of a good time).

So finally, we contact Gaylord Palms (that monstrosity of a hotel right outside the Disney World Gates). They have many options for a receptions and the place is absolutely gorgeous. Anyways to make a long story short, they have a restauant that's called "Villa de Flora", it is a buffet. It's resonably priced and when I include the price of wine it works out to less than what I would pay to have a meal at Il Murino. They also, have a private room that seats 30 people (I believe they have more private dining in that restaurant too but she only told me about the 30 person room).

Anyways, we are going down in October to check out Fultons, Il Murino and Villa de Flora (I cleverly disguised this getaway as a "Wedding planning trip" for 4 days and it has now turned into a full fleged 8 day vacation:rotfl2: )

Anyways, if you have any question please ask away. I wil probably start a WP report, because there surely isn't enough info on Swan weddings.

Tracey

thank you all so much for your help and advice

we would have loved to have had our wedding meal at The Gaylord Palms only thing was that we were there last year for a Wedding meal for my partners sister so we would like somewhere different for our wedding.

We have been sending out many email enquires to several resturants near the Swan & Dolphin and are currently waiting for replys.

I just wanted to say that the Gaylord Palms is absolutely beautiful all i can describe it as is Out Of This World, i would highly recomend having pictures done there fantastic place and very helpful staff.

Well thank you all very much and i know ill be back with many more questions lol as we all do thanks x

hi all,

well quick update we have picked the date of the wedding just waiting for Michele to get back to us about deposits etc for the date... so exciting

We have also managed to sort out having our reception at the Hard Rock Cafe at Universal its in a beautiful room and sounds fantastic and even better it suites out budget alot more lol

well i hope you are all well and feel free to stick any advice on here all coments are very much apreciated :cloud9:

That's great news Laura :goodvibes

We just got our contract today from Michele. It feels so real now:woohoo:

If you don't mind me asking, what restaruant at the Hard Rock are you having your reception at?

Thanks

Another Swan bride here! Congratulations!!

I've been working with Susan and she has been wonderful - and very patient and helpful with my many questions. We are actually looking to do something different and forego the reception. We are trying to just book a dessert party instead. Sounds weird, I know but its because of the surprise factor and that we are trying to stick to an "elaborate elopement" with an at home party later on.

Anyways (trying not to hijack your thread) good luck!

thanks for youir replys

we are having the buffet which has great choices in the Elvis Library its a nice private room with private terrace also and the prices can be made as cheap or as expensive as you like, the staff are really helpful there and will answer any questions that you have.

Im really excite even though its still a long way away but getting contracts and signing things just makes it seem all that much more real and more exciting than ever :cloud9:

Congrat's to all the Swan brides!!! I was one too in 2005! Celebrating our 3 years this year in WDW :)

I loved the Crescent Terr. Unfortunatly it rained on my wedding day and they moved me to an inside banquet room. Maybe they've improved on their contingency plans by now but I would get info on where the wedding will be in case it rains. We ended up having my MOH dragging in potted plants from the hallways of the Swan to make the room look nicer.

I had my dinner at Ohana's as we were looking for something fun to do with our guests. We closed the place down!

Have fun planning. The HR sounds fantastic. You are lucky to have found that.

yeah i think that we might be going for the Crescent Terrace but im currently waiting for Michele to get back to me as i dont know what times of the day that you can hold the ceremony at the Swan, so hopefully as soon as i know deposits will be paid and the date will definately be set :cloud9:

thanks
