getting into a parade

My best friend is a DIs-a holic and we will be down for a week on land then a week at sea. She is dying to get into a parade... any parade. Any tips????

Sorry, it is pure pixie dust! There is no way to plan or plot getting into the parades that I know of. My DH and I were Grand Marshals of the Share a Dream Come True parade in January 2003. We got to the MK early and were just making small talk with one of the Cast Members when she asked us to be the Grand Marshals.

So I guess if you get to the park early, look really enthusiastic, and talk to the right person, you may get lucky.

I was told that it is generally a make a Wish Family of Military Family that is selected to be in a parade.

I am sure that there have been exceptions and maybe things have changed since 911.

My sister and I were Grand Marshalls in Share A Dream Parade on Nov. 19 this year. We always wear matching shirts that we have had custom stitching on and trolley pins. We have lanyards with name badges and we always talk to all the cast members. We say hello to everyone, wish happy birthday or talk to them about anything. A CM came up to us and asked us.
It was the thrill of a live time. I Doubt we will every top it for Disney Magic.

My family and I were asked to be in the parade at Animal Kingdom one year when we were having breakfast at Donald's Breakfastasaurous. One of the servers noticed my very detailed "Itinery Book" and started asking me about it. He said he has seen many but nothing as detailed as mine. Asked if we were planning on being in AK all day. When we said yes he said he's be right back and left to make a phonecall. When he returned he gave us the good news. There was still room in one of the floats for another family. We jumped at the opportunity! It was a once in a lifetime chance. and it was all by chance of being in the right place at the right time....and connecting with the right person. Good Luck.
