We are thinking of tying the knot on our trip to Florida next October. We have booked the All Star Movies. We have almost ruled out WDW itself due to being too expensive so at the moment our choices are:

The Wyndham Palace Resort
The Dolphin/Swan
Leu Gardens
Cypress Gardens

Anyone seen a wedding at any of the above? What did you think? anyone had their wedding at any of the above? or in Florida at all?

I would greatly appreciate any help you can offer, any comments and/or ideas:)

Annmarie - can't help much with your question, just wanted to say
LUCKY YOU !!!

I know in the Virgin brochure they detail their "wedding" hotels, so might be worth having a look to see who offers what.

Hi Ann Marie

How exciting :D I am a Disney Bride :D We married in 2000 at Sunset Point at Disney's Polynesian Hotel. Going back for our 2nd anniversary this year.

I haven't seen or know of anyone who married at any of the places you mentioned though. I can try and dig out some info for you if you like.

I can offer advice on photographers, dress, marraige license and stuff, If you want any info email me at kaylee.robbins@btinternet.com

We will be in Florida next October too....

Hi, we got married june 2001 in Cypress Gardens and I have to say it was absolutely perfect!!

They really look after you , the minister is lovely and really friendly, the setting is beautiful which makes the photographs and video come out even better and I just enjoyed every minute of it.

I would fully recommend a wedding here and if you've got any questions please ask!!

....... how exciting Annmarie :D :D :D !!! I would also recommend the wedding and honeymoon forum as well as any advice our Kaylee can offer!
When we were at the Dolphin we did see a British wedding party exiting the lift and heading off for the marriage, but don't know any details ( except they all looked happy and relaxed!!)

Annie: It was Virgin we were looking at, especially as we've booked our holiday with them, but although they detail their wedding services we couldn't get a real feel for the locations.

Kaylee: did you book Sunset Pointe direct or via Virgin? It must have been so lovely. We have looked at all the various WDW locations but booking them via Virgin is just a little too expensive.

Rachellay: Was your service in the wedding pavilion? I really like the look of this as its seems really pretty and at the moment its a toss up between Cypress Gardens and Cypress Grove. The only difference between the two being that Cypress Grove has an indoor venue if the weather is bad!

Bonzo and Shirley: I have been reading the weddings & honeymoon forums but they seem to mostly centre around weddings held at WDW. But I've still managed to glean some useful information, as always, from them.

Last question for Kaylee and Rachellay: did you organise your photographers independently and did you have a video?

Thanks everyone for all your help:)

Hi Ann-Marie

We booked our wedding through Unijet at the time but you can deal directly with Disney Fairy-Tale Weddings Department. Here is a link http://disney.go.com/vacations/disneyweddings/index1.html

I think the Disney weddings are about £2,500 now. I organised my photographer and minister seperately. I emailed a lot of photographers and got samples sent. Here is a link to a few. http://www.yourfairytale.com/photographers.html My photographer was Rick Ferro http://www.rickferro.com/home.html he was a great guy, we did most of our pictures at The Poly but we also did a couple on the Grand Floridian staircase. On his site are pictures of the places you have mentioned :D I didn't get a video.

Here is another site for you http://www.orlandoweddinglocations.com/ Here is a link to my photos : http://photos.yahoo.com/kayleerobbins This is mainly for Disney but may help you http://www.yourfairytale.com/

I hope this helps. Any questions please ask :D

I've seen a number of wedding being conducted at the Swan and Dolphin resorts. Once, I saw a horse drawn carriage waiting for the bridal party. I spoke with the driver, he was not "Disney" rather a local fellow who rented his horse and carriage (and self!) out for weddings.

Bok Towers may be another place for you to consider. It is a lovely, lovely garden not too far from Disney World.

Just a short while ago I saw a couple in DTD Westside dressed for a wedding! She was in a full length gown with short train, and he was in full piper's dress!

So, getting married here should be a relatively simple thing to do!

Have fun planning your ceremony.

Hi, sorry about the wait, I've only just checked the boards!!

Our ceremony was in the wedding pavillion and it looks as gorgeous in real life as it does in piccies!
Apart from it being a bit windy for my veil, I dont really think the weather would affect your ceremony at all, and I am sure that they have a back up plan in bad weather.

If you have any other questions please ask, it gives me a excuse to relive it again(not that I need one!!)

What planet am I on!!!

I've just noticed your question about the photos and video, Sorry!!

Our wedding was organised by Crownline weddings through Style holidays, the video was done by Total Imagery and the photos were taken by a photographer that works for Crownline, we were asked what music we wanted on the video 3 days before the wedding and what photo package we wanted and then we were contacted at our accommodation to pick both up 4 days after the wedding, so we were really impressed with the service, I dont think it really matters which tour company you book the wedding with, because I think the majority of them all use Crownline!

Just wanted to thank you all for all your invaluable help. Thanks to all the great sites you directed me to we have managed to wittle our choice down to either the gazebo at Cypress Gardens or Leu Gardens. Both look great and as they are both gardens the photo opportunities at both should be great as well. Now if only I could make up my mind:)

Kaylee: I did sneak a look at your pics and they were really lovely. Looks like you had a lovely day.

Rachellay: I have decided which ever venue we go for I am going to book it through Crownline directly, by coincidence their's was the first site I looked at, as they deal in £s for all the extras unlike Virgin and everyone else who quote $, you need to know just how much its all going to cost LOL, so I was very pleased to hear you had a good experience with them.

As I said we just have to make that final all important decision of venue but I'm getting excited already. If you have any other thoughts, tips or useful information please let me know.

Many thanks
Annmarie
