i have this problem most of the time when i travel because i do not drive but after getting tips on these boards a few years ago, i will now always ship food to myself. it really worked out for us. i just carefully packed a box up and weighed it. went to ups.com to find out what date to ship to have it arrive when i do and made sure it was labeled appropriately. i ended having to ship only 4-5 days before our trip and i sent a case of juice boxes, mini water bottles, cereal, chips, cookies, candy, napkins and such, granola bars, fruit cups, peanut butter & jelly, bread, you name it and i sent it. to keep the bread fresh and squish free, i took out of the package and packed in a tupperware container and then wraped the container in cling wrap and several plastic bags. it was great not to have to deal with getting the kids out in the morning for breakfast and when we returned from the pool, the kids would make sandwiches and grab snacks from the room. i bought milk at the hotel (at RPR it was at the orchid lounge) bottled in 16oz containers and we just grabbed one everyday for breakfast. it also allowed me to save money and have snacks on hand whenever the kids wanted. all in all, it cost me $30 for the food and $15 to ship and the bell staff brought it to my room on my arrival.
