My wife and I are considering a membership at the animal kingdom lodge and were curious about getting groceries-How do people usually do it??? If we do this we like the express pick up and delivery and Orlando and would not rent a car?

First of all.....:welcome: to the DIS boards.
Now, as far as groceries go....a lot of folks here use the following services...
www.wegoshop.com and www.gardengrocer.com
They both will deliver pretty much whatever you want. They both charge a delivery fee. I believe that garden grocer will leave your order with bell services if you aren't there to recieve your order. But it does have to be prepaid. And bell services does have the ability to keep things refridgerated.
Check out the sites and see what you think.

We have used Gooding's Supermarket in the past. Service was great but their prices are a little high. Bell Services kept our cold items cold and our frozen items frozen. For our next trip in May we have already ordered from GardenGrocer. I will post our experience when we get back. :woohoo:

We've been members for about 3 yrs and just this last visit in October, used the grocery service, wegoshop. (We usually rent a car and do our own grocery shopping)

They were wonderful! We got to our room as scheduled (from Magical Express) and wegoshop was already at BCV, delivering to someone else.

It was perfect. I can't believe we haven't used it before.

We will return to BCV in Feb 08 and plan to use ME & wegoshop again!!

:thumbsup2

We've had great experience with garden grocer. The prices were good and our groceries were left at the front desk for us. Our cold stuff was refrigerated until we picked it up. We highly recommend this service.

We use the kitchen quite a bit in the 1BR.. Usually we have the groceries delivered via wegoshop... Love them...

Only times we haven't is because someone in our party had transportation and we talked them into grocery shopping before they got to the resort..

If you have your own car, there is a Publix supermarket across from the North side of the Orlando Premium Outlets (across I-4 from LBV). Don't know if you are from the Southeast, but Publix blows the other supermarkets away IMHO.

We used Garden Grocer last week for our first trip home. They called when they got to the resort and had everything we ordered. The delivery person was extremely nice and everything we ordered came as it should (i.e. frozen, fresh). You can even order beer from them by typing in what you want in the comments section at the end of your order. Even though we had a rental car, we didn't want to spend any time grocery shopping while we were on vacation. There is a $12 delivery fee, but we think it is well worth it.
