Getting from ship to CC beach

We're planning on getting off the ship as soon as we can. Is it quicker to take the tram or to walk to the family beach?

Last year, we waited on the tram, and it took quite a while to get there. Was that a fluke, or does it consistently get there "late"? If the tram is not there, should we just walk?

The tram was just leaving as we got off the boat, so we walked. The tram beat us to the family beach, but we were settled in our beach chairs before the tram had time to return and drop off the next batch of passengers.

Approximately how long does it take to walk to the family beach from the ship? Are there trails to get there...or do you have to walk in the sand?

There is a little boardwalk-like sidewalk on the left of the tram path. There are signs telling you how long to expect the walk. I think it said 15 minutes, but I would guess we did it in about 10 minutes.
