Hello! I thought you guys who know the best.

We have dinner reservations the first night at Yachtman Steakhouse and need to get to the Yacht Club -- we are staying at Pop Century, can we walk?

If not, what busy should we take. We do NOT want to use a Park admission.

Also, how does one get to the Port Orleans resort?

You definitely can't walk. You can take the bus to DHS and then take the boat to the Yacht club.

To get to Port Orleans, I would take the bus to Downtown Disney and then the boat to Port Orleans.

I used a cab last year...I had to get back to POP but didn't want to take the time to get to DHS and then wait for a bus. The cab cost about $10 total...tip included.
To get to POR, I would head to DTD and jump on the boat..it's a nice, relaxing ride.

Please don't underestimate how much time it takes to get from one resort to another. Unless you are going between very limited resorts ( Boardwalk to Beach Club, etc ) you will have to take a bus to a park or Downtown Disney then transfer to another bus going to that specific resort. Truly, it can take up to an hour and a half ( although in my experience it's usually about an hour to go from one resort to another). I'll give you an example. Last summer we were staying at OKW. Took the resort bus to Animal Kingdom which stops at Blizzard Beach before the park, then from Animal Kingdom , took the Animal Kingdom Lodge bus to dine at Boma. It took an hour and a half. This was not with any unusually high wait times for the busses. We spent an hour eating at Boma, then did the trip in reverse to get back to OKW. All together it took 4 hours for dinner. We are WDW veterans so didn't mind spending half a day this way. If i were there for a once in a lifetime trip, I might have been mad at myself for not figuring out the logistics. FWIW, if we don't have a car we dine 1. at our resort 2. in the parks 3. restaurants in Downtown Disney or 4. at resorts that are easily accessable from the park we will be in that day (ie. Yachtman Steakhouse if we'll be at Epcot or MGM, 'Ohana if we'll be at Magic Kingdom ) If we really wanted to travel between resorts, we'd definately spring for a cab.

I agree with eeyoresmom. Don't underestimate how long getting to a resort ADR will take. It seemed to take forever to get from Pop to anywhere, lol. I would not recommend changing buses at DTD because the buses there can stop at Marketplace, Pleasure Island, and then Blizzard Beach. For the YC I would go to DHS and then take the boat to the Y/BC.

We planned a dinner date at Narcoossee's and didn't estimate it would take that long to get from MK to GF - wrong! The monorail took forever and then I didn't realize (having never been there) that Narcoossee's isn't actually "in" the GF. It was much closer to the boat dock but that was just as long at the end of our dinner. We did enjoy the electric water pageant from the dock at least.

Yep, you learned the lesson that a lot of us already learned....the monorail isn't always the quickest way to get to the GF!!! It takes about 20-25 mins to get there from the MK, and that doesn't take into account any wait times on the platform or any 'issues' while on the monorail. The little boat that goes to the GF is pretty efficient..especially since it stops at the GF first and is very close to Narcoosse.
