getting from Pop Century to Hilton by the Convention center

My husband will be at a conference in the Hilton by the Orlando Convention center in a few weeks. The family will be staying at Pop. What is the quickest/easiest/cheapest way to go between the two locations? I would prefer not to rent a car. Thanks.

If it will just be your husband going to the Pop, I suggest taking the Lynx 111 from the hotel to Downtown Disney, then hop on Disney transportation to the Pop. It will only cost 2 dollars each way or $4.50 for an all day pass. The only reason I say if it is him riding is there is about .6 miles of walking from the hotel to the bus stop. It only takes about 10-20 minutes to get there depending on how many stops they make. Another option is taxi's, but you are looking at (according to Mears site) a 28 dollar cab fare each way. The quickest/easiest/chepest way is to rent a car. You want the quickest and easiest? Take a cab.

You can check at lynx golynx.com but I think the previous poster is mistaken. I don't there is a 111 route nor is there a regular Lynx stop at the POP. Lynx has a few routes designed for Disney employees. They have one (maybe 2) buses in the am and the same in the pm.

An alternate solution would be to stay at the Convention hotel and find transportation to the parks from the Hilton.

The 111 goes from Dowtown Disney to the airport and there is a stop at the intersection of I-drive and the road the hotel is on. I can't post a link, just go to golynx.com and click on "schedules & maps" and scroll down to 111
Like I said, you just have to take Disney bus to Downtown and you can hop on the 111 from there. It runs on the half hour from 5:30AM to 10:30PM everyday of the week.
*EDIT* I forgot to mention, your husbands stop won't be listed on the route map because they only list major stops, but there is a stop on pretty much every route every half mile or so.

Sorry I though you were giving information from POP to the other hotel. I didn't think Lynx had a regular stop at POP.

Morning transportation from POP to DTD is going to be limited. He may have a long wait for a bus. I think there is a bit of walk from the location the Disney bus drops him off to the Lynx stop.

Lynx is the cheapest but not the quickest or easiest.

edited to add the PP is suggesting a 20 minute bus ride followed by a .6 mile walk. Sounds like 30 minutes. You probably have to allow at least 45 minutes to get from POP to DTD. The wait for a bus could be 20-30 minutes plus travel time plus the time to walkto the Lynx stop.

How many days will he be going to the convention center? If it's more than 2, I would rent a car. $28 sounds cheap for a taxi to the convention center, I would bet it will be more than that. People have reported a $15 fare just around WDW. Mapquest shows it is 12.5 miles.

I just returned from attending a convention with my DH. I spent three glorious days at the World while DH was working. I looked into the Lynx route, but renting a car was the best option.

I went on http://www.mousesavers.com to get various rental car codes and had the convenience of a car for a week around $125. The trip to/from WDW to the Rosen Centre Hotel (next to Convention Center) took about 20 minutes door to door.

Look at the time and cost it will be to ride the buses with your family. The cost of a car might be well worth it.

We have decided to rent a car. I did check out the lynx route, but I don't think that will be speedy enough. Thanks for everyone's input.
