Getting from one resort to another?

We are staying at ASMo in January. We have a few late dinner reservations at other resorts (ex: 8:10pm at Whispering Canyon, 9pm at Boma). How will we be able to get back to our resort after dinner? Can we take a bus? I assumed we'd have to connect through a park but then I realized today that I'm not sure how late the buses run to the parks, especially since the parks aren't open particularly late in January.

Also, do buses run from the parks to Downtown Disney or will we have to connect through a resort?

NO buses between theme parks and Downtown Disney (due to parking abuse).

When no parks are open late enough, yes, you take a bus from one resort to Downtown Disney and change to the bus for your destination resort.

Keep in mind, Magic Kingdom WILL be open late some nights for the Princess & Pirate Parties; and MK, Epcot, and the Studios have Extra Magic Hours that run late enough for you to use the open park as your connection point.

Disney Transport:

Resort to resort after the parks are closed must be done connecting at Downtown Disney. During the day it is better to connect at the nearest park rather than at DTD. You may want to check park hours to avoid connecting at a park that is just closing with the crowds coming out.

You can also take a taxi resort to resort if you choose to. I think you can get almost anywhere on Disney property for under $20. Someone will correct me if I am wrong.
Last week we took a taxi from BWV to AKL for dinner at Jiko. I reasoned that we used ME saved a Rental Car or Town Car Service fee, and so saved a lot of money It was $14 each way. I saved the money for the taxi in advance so DH couldn't complain.
