We will be staying at POP in september and will not have a car. I'm trying to figgure out where to eat our dinners and wondering how hard it is to get to other resorts to eat dinner? I know the buses take you to the parks but is there buses to the other resorts or would I have to take a bus to the park then get on a different bus to the other resort then after dinner take the bus back to the park then back to POP? Wondering if I should try doing a few dinners at other resorts or just eat all of them at the parks? Thanks for any help.

There are not busses to resorts from resorts but what you could do is lets say you are at epcot... and want to eat at the Poly... just take the monerail over. or if you are at MK and want to go to Wilderness.. take the boat over.. I would try to base it on what you can get to from MK... (contemprorary..poly...grandfloridian... wildernesslodge... ft. wilderness)
or epcot.. (monerail resorts) or lots of resturants along the boardwalk../beachclub which has a walking path the boardwalk right near the united kindgom..

Thanks for the tip. Its kinda hard to plan out the whole week this far in advace but from what I hear if I dont get ADR I wont be able to eat! I would like to have a more flexible schedule instead of having everything planned out.

if you are going during the time of free dining i would def. have you adrs made... its hard to know exactly where you are going to be/when but we always plan things out ahead of time.. strange as it sounds we go to the parks that DONT have early magic hours..or the late hours... we dont get up in time to take advantage of them so we go to the other parks thinking most disney resort guests will be at the early park.. in the morning and the late park at night.. not sure if my method works but it helps us get a schedule.. and you can schedule/plan in fireworks.. b/c somtimes they are at different times along with spectro magic parade.. you can get the schedule on the disneywebsite..or allearsnet.com have a great trip... we'll be going back in 08!

If you are one of those folks who are skipping the car because you don't like driving, but can afford to pay for cabs - take cabs! So much faster! And you can always get a cab at a park or hotel.

If you are skipping the car because it doesn't fall into your budget, skip the hotel meals that can't be fit into your theme park experience. If it were me, I'd skip them all with the possible exeption of those that can be reached by monorail from the Magic Kingdom - just wastes too much time.

But, you can reach most of the resorts if you want to.

You can monorail to the Contemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian from the MK. You can boat it over to Wilderness Lodge or Fort Wilderness from the MK.

You can walk to Beach Club or Boardwalk from Epcot or monorail to the three monorail resorts by transferring at the Ticket & Transportation center - it can be a long trip. If you want to get to the Poly from Epcot, monorail to the TTC and then walk - it is usually faster.

You can boat to Beach Club/Boardwalk from MGM.

You can take a bus from the Animal Kingdom to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and eat there, if you want. Then bus back to the AK and catch a bus to your resort.

Well thanks for all the info guys. I think I'm going to try to have all our meal at the parks, just seems like too much time wasted trying to get around from one resort to another and too much of a schedule to keep for a vacation. I will just figgure out which parks we will be at on which days and try to get our meals there.

Getting from resort to resort is a pain and time consuming, but to me there are some great places to eat at the resorts that I wouldn't want to miss. Personally I would take the time and go, just make sure you leave enough time, so you don't feel super rushed.

If you're going to be in Epcot or MGM, you can make ADRs at BW, YC/BC very easily. Those resorts are a very quick walk from Epcot and about 20 min walk from MGM. You can also take the friendship boats, but those can take longer.
If you are going to be at the MK, you can easily get to the CR, Polynesian, and GF via the monorail. Same for WL and FtW....take the boat from MK.

Yes, it takes a bit more planning, but if you can figure out which park you'll be at, you can head to the resorts that are close to that particular park and not have to worry too much about how to get there.

While its easier to eat in the parks don't rule out some of the great resort restaurants. As pp's mentioned we try and plan our resort meals by the parks we are visiting - a day at AK is followed by a meal at AKL. While at Epcot we often do a lunch at one of the Epcot resort restaurants. We really like the Concourse Steakhouse at CR so we eat a late lunch or early dinner here on our MK day.

We also budget for cab fare especially if we are eating dinner at a resort other than our own so we can take a cab back. Typically we plan on about $15.00 per ride plus tip. If your only doing this a few days of the vacation its quite affordable and very convenient.

but if you will know which park you will be at, then it is just as easy to pick a resort to eat at also. for example if you are at mk one day, very easy to eat at poly, gf, or cr.
