Can anyone tell me the best way to get from Epcot to Fort Wilderness Lodge. We want to pop over to the Trails End Buffet and don't know the best way to do it.

Also can you tell me how long the journey might take?

Thanks
Tink

take the monrail to the Ticket/transportation Center (TTC) then either change to the resort monrail - get off at the Cont and take the boat -

or go to the bus stop at the TTC and take the bus to FW

or go get on the express monrail to the MK and take its boat.

all 3 ways will let you out close to Trail end buffett.

Don't take the bus from Epcot to FW - this will let you off at the depost side not the settlement side and you will have to take another bus to get to the settlement side (where the restuarant is located).

Thanks - do you know approx how long this journey takes (30 /45 mins??)

Thanks again

You'll want to make sure that when looking at signs for Transportation, that you know that "Wilderness Lodge" and "Fort Wilderness" are two totally separate entities. Trails End is located at the Settlement Depot at Fort Wilderness.

From Epcot, you can take the Monorail to the Transportation & Ticket Center. At the Transportation Center, head to the bus stop, and catch the bus marked Wilderness Lodge/Fort Wilderness. You'll want to get out at the 2nd stop, which will be the Settlement Depot.

Monorails run every 10 minutes, and it's a 10 minute journey to the Transportation Center. Buses run every 12 minutes, and it's an 8 minute journey to the Settlement Depot.

If you catch everything just right, it will probably be a 25 minute journey. However, plan for 45, just in case.

Tyler,

I have a question:confused: . I'm still trying to earn my purple pants :jester: and FW is confusing.:(

The TTC bus stops at the outpost, right? Doesn't the bus turn into one of the color routes and make stops before the settlement stop?

Fort Wilderness can be confusing, until you figure it out. Then you're like, "Wow... that really IS simple."

There are three (well, technically four) colored routes within Fort Wilderness. The Yellow, the Purple, and the Blue/Orange (often just called the Orange...)

The "Blue" route is the route that goes from TTC to WL to Settlement Depot. At that point in time, it converts to the Outpost Orange bus, and continues down the center of Fort Wilderness to the Outpost. At the Outpost, it changes to the Settlement Orange, and goes back up the center of FW to the Settlement. At the Settlement, it converts back to the Blue, and heads out to WL and then the TTC. There are three buses on that route, running at 12 minute intervals.

The Purple will run from the Settlement to the Outpost along the Cabins (western) side of Fort Wilderness.

The Yellow will run from the Settlement to the Outpost along the eastern side of Fort Wilderness.

The interesting thing about the Yellows and Purples, is that they don't stay on one color. They actually run in a circle. So, two will be Settlement Purple, and then Outpost Yellow, and the other two will be Settlement Yellow, and then Outpost Purple. This way, guests on one side of the complex can just stay on the bus to get to the other side -- no need to switch.

There are a total of four buses running on the Yellow/Purple - two staggered clockwise, and two staggered counter clockwise. They run from the Outpost and the Settlement on the :10 minute mark.

I know it sounds confusing, but it really is so simple.

Thanks Tyler.

So the blue bus goes from the TTC to WL, enters FW and goes through FW straight to the Settlement depot.

The yellow bus changes to purple... (Sounds like a Babylon 5 episode;) )

I'll have to study some more before I take the test:jester:

The "blue" route is from TTC to WL to Settlement Depot (Pioneer Hall). Prior to reaching the Settlement Depot, the driver will change the sign to "Outpost Orange." The bus then continues down the center of FW, making stops at the 600 & 800 loops, the 900, 1000 and Meadows Complex, and then the 1100, 1200, & 1300 loops before stopping at the Outpost Depot (Check-in area)

Prior to reaching the Outpost, the driver will change the sign to read "Settlement Orange" The driver will then head back up the center, to the Settlement. Prior to reaching the Settlement, the driver will change the sign to read "Wilderness Lodge & Tran/Ticket Ctr"

okay I know that they change it to purple, yellow, orange - but I still miss Chip and Dale.........

the output buses are going to the output - the settlement buses are going to the settlement - this is surpose to be easier to understand.....but I still miss the CHip and dale buses......

LOL you're not the only one who misses the name...

*glances over at my username*

hey I even suggested that instead of the settlement they call that one Chip and the Output Dale - but they say if would be confusing.....

I think the characters are much easier to remember that the current system - but my opinion does not count.....

You could also take the bus from EPCOT to FW. It stops at Outpost. Take one of the Settlement busses to the Settlement drop off and walk to Trail's End. When you are finished, you can take a boat to MK to catch a bus to your hotel if you are on-site.

Even though you should be able to make it there in 25 minutes, count on more like 45 to an hour just in case you just missed one or more of those bus/boat transfers to get there.
