What is the best route to get from inside DL to Disneyland Hotel for our dinner at Goofy's??? How long would it take us to walk there?
Be aware that the line to the Monorail can take quite a long time, and walking to the DLH may be your quicker option. When we were there, I overheard the CMs saying that because of the new monorails, they are limiting the passengers to 15 per car. They also take time to make sure each car has the limit and try to fill when necessary.
When we took the Monorail from Tomorrowland back to the DLH in the evening, we stood in line for a few cycles of monorails. We weren't in a hurry and enjoyed watching the Nemo subs.

Can one ride the monorail just for the experience? We stay off-site, but I would love to ride the monorail sometime.
I last rode it when I was 7 and that is before some posters here were born!
:~)
Most definitely! You can ride it just for the sake of riding it!
YES, we think of the monorail as an attraction at DL and not a means of transportation. Love it!!
I agree. My boys are 5 and 3 and think it's just super! They have no clue Space and Splash Mt. even exsist. LMAO!
They'll be in for it one day
